Cardboad Cliffs from Fat Dragon
March 26, 2011 by beerogre
The more we've been playing Infinity this week the more we've been thinking that is would be nice to get some more varied terrain on the board.
So I've been looking into cardboard terrain, just ot see if there is anything that might be suitable and easy to make.
I stumbled across this new set from Fat Dragon Games... tell me what you think?
Do any of you guys have some pictures of your cardboard terrain?
Why not stick some pictures of it on Terrainarama, so we can check it out.

A couple of paper boards might be useful for people to distribute there paper terrains and sceneries. Just be vigilant regarding copyrights. But then you’d need size groups, free or paid…Yeah forget it, too many little grouping sections.
With the power of knowing what size you want and what setting you desire; google can find you entire cities of paper for just a few well spent coins.
Being war gamers I must insist on you checking out a paper game called flipit. Flipit has buildings and 4 armies with a rule set, all free to download.
I second Flipit, it’s a really fun wargame. And as tony88 mentioned, everything’s free. Main website: http://www.flipitpapercombat.com/
Also…Red Hammers player here, Blue Falcons are smalltime!
Wouldn’t use the Obese Dragon stuff myself, but I like making my own terrain
But enjoyed the pics. Loved some of the design and the waterfall. Certainly looks the part imho
Having problems with that link at the moment Lunchbox 🙁
Gotta pimp the stuff over at http://www.worldwordsgames.com – great card scenery (I’m in the middle of a fairly complex Titan kitbash at the moment) and the gridless option on their floor tiles is ideal for those wanting to use it for wargaming. The Orbital Sci-Fi set over at http://www.stones-edges.com is also really, really nice. Very clean, which makes it perfect for Star Wars and probably for Infinity too. Be warned, those nice looking doors are quite fiddly to make!
mmmmmmmm
My take on this is, for most organic terrain it’s easier (with better results) to make it with other materials such as styrene and bark etc
Now structures are another matter 🙂 and I think paper terrain is cool.
We should consider a big weekend dedicated to paper terrain etc.
Thoughts?
Yes please, but take your time, plenty of papercraft to find.
I don’t know… Building advice ?
Or perhaps you could create BoW special paper terrain to be downloaded…
@elromanozo Do you mean advice on building the papercrafts, or actual buildings? As for creating bow specials I don’t really see any point, it would be nice of them to do but there are so many different designs out there already. – A craft knife, steel ruler or straight edge, some paper glue and a cutting mat should be all you need. – Using a knife gives a cleaner cut and gets you into the corners better, giving a better result overall. The straight edge is simply a guide for the knife. – Cut out the papercraft and fold all… Read more »
Hm… Well, that about sums it up for me ! lol… Thanks…
I started a group here on BoW a while back called paper miniatures with the idea of getting a bank of websites together and generally pooling our own knowledge as trawling through Google can be tiresome. Check it out 🙂

^ Actual paper miniatures. Check site links for a few other websites. You could make one HUGE list of all the different sites and files 😛
Wow actual 3D paper minis, thats impressive. Thanks thats kind of my goal to have a HUGE list on BoW here
Although paper terrain is cool, I would not be happy to pay more than a pound or so for a piece of it. I prefer to use free paper terrain sites such as http://www.toposolitario.com/workshop/index.html for my paper terrain ( by the way, although alot of the stuff on this site is made for infinity, much of it will work fine with 40K or any other modern or futuristic wargame.)
