Brush 4 Hire Launches Shanty Town Terrain
October 7, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
Brush 4 Hire launched a new line of 28mm terrain called, Rust Point. These shanty style buildings easily lend themselves to loads of different gaming styles. Maybe you're looking for some post-apocalyptic terrain? Or perhaps a run down, urban feel?
You can even explore some modern warefare with look! Can't you see the infantry clearing buildings?
These MDF buildings come unassembled and unpainted so you can make them fit whatever game or world you are trying to set the scene for.
Will you be lining your table with these new shanties from Brush 4 Hire?

Too bloody right! They are stunning. S&S make a fantastic range – mixed with this I have no excuse to not go 28mm anymore. Spectre miniatures – here we come.
I can’t belive I am the only person that loves this!
lol I was thinking the same thing, @unclejimmy!
very nice very aussie outback Mad Max I ish.
…it’s a bit clean looking for the outback! Too well decorated and glass in the windows. Put a ‘Fosters’ poster up and your on your way.
So flexible… useful for so many systems from Steampunk to modern to near future.
The Bundle for $135 looks excellent… until the checkout calculates:
“Priority Mail International® (USPS): $63.81”
Call that $200 ~ £130? Still not bad for 10 shanty buildings and various scatter (dumpsters, lean-tos and rubble)!
Then there’s the 20% VAT and £8 handling fee if you’re ordering from the UK which would push it up to around £165. If the set had UK distribution then I’d be all over it.
Postage always blows! If your in the US the have a look at Game Craft. They make some excellent mdf and foamboard building. With a little work they look stunning. My daughter bought me a load of their 20mm middle-eastern style buildings and compounds. Awesome.
I am sure I’ve worked there at some point, could do Mogadishu streets and back alleys. So many places blurred into one big shanty town. Then again when you’ve survived one they all look the bloody same. Tell you what you could use them for, how about a drug/gang south american shanty town all up a steep slope where the sheds run one just under another “The rat run’s in Costa Rica for example” they aren’t on the tourist trail, never been there. You could use the 28mm swat stuff I have seen about. Do like the models but, there… Read more »
Those are superb. I so hope some UK distie picks these up
…fingers crossed! I do like them, but making your own is so easy if you find them too expensive. @chrisg is right or foamboard and plasticard, a bit of textured paint and your on your way. S&S make some beautiful ‘shanties’ and they are in the UK if you have never seen them before.
