Black Jack Miniatures To Launch A New 28mm Sci-Fi Terrain Set
August 7, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
September 1st is the scheduled launch date for a really cool, paper based, sci fi terrain set from Black Jack Miniatures. This Sci-Fi Operations Base set is scaled for use in 28mm games and offers a great looking assortment of buildings to set the scene for your Sci-Fi game.
This set features: one Command Block, one Medic Block, one Warehouse Block, one Science Block, four Crates, two Power Cores, and one Mat. Black Jack has more where this came from and plans to launch a "Sci-Fi Street Scene" in the near future.
The set will be available on Wargame Vault.
What do you think of this futuristic Sci-Fi terrain?

Meh, the pictures are pretty bland imho. All i see are boxes….
If they are collapsable and FIRMLY stackable it would be a point….. otherwise… scenery packs from CB are better i fear!^^
It’s nice to have choices; I have the CB stuff, and I find there to be a slight problem with the bigger “boxes” it doesn’t take much to make the top bit not level (there is only a tab at the front), whereas these ones don’t look like they suffer from the same problem (at the same time, these ones don’t have a lip to go prone behind).
Put a box from a starter pack, tag or a support box inside and the roofs stay level, or you can just glue ’em and be done with it.
I’m familiar with the box thang (it was highlighted in the BoW unboxing), but making sure to take boxes with the scenery to make sure it is stable, or gluing the things together….seems contrary to the idea that you can tidy the stuff away flat. This is all a very minor complaint, because I do have enough boxes anyway, in addition to being lucky enough that I can put it all on a top shelf in the small box room my wife has granted me. While these are a bit dull for my tastes, maybe people are looking for less… Read more »
True, and not having the wall to go prone behind means you’d have to expose yourself to return fire if you want to use the roofs, might be an idea to mix this in with the CB sets for variety, should tie in with the Ariadna base set pretty well.
Use a bit of foam board!
Yeah, they do look really dull
Look nice, but not a good picture. Some really nice stuff from worldworks that looks good in Infinity.
The buildings look great to me.
I would like to know more about this paper based terrain. How solid does it feel? How good is the print quality? Etc. It will be good to see more images posted. For the price, this is not a bad way to go on 28mm terrain.
If you print your own stuff you can decide – most printers will print on really good card for almost nothing. I used a printer near me and it cost less than 30p a sheet. Print shops are brilliant – most can print playmats too.
