Battle Systems Takes a Peek into a Fantasy Dungeon
April 30, 2014 by dracs
Battle Systems have put up a sneak peek at a new Kickstarter they are planning to run this summer, taking us all to the depths of a fantasy dungeon.
These quick previews of the card terrain set are looking really promising. There is a ton of detail on display that will help to establish it as an atmospheric setting perfect for your dungeon crawling adventures.
Given how excellent the work that came out of their scifi terrain Kickstarter was, this new fundraiser makes me hopeful that we could be seeing a fantastic selection of fantasy sets. We will definitely be keeping an eye on this.
Did any of you chip into Battle Systems' last Kickstarter?

I need to buy a fantasy game just so I can get this, any idea’s what to get?
Would you prefer a boardgame, minis game, or an rpg?
Don’t know, that’s the problem 🙂 Maybe a fantasy skirmish game, the only figures I have are LOTR and some old stuff from WHFRP.
Just get a copy of Warhammer Quest. This would really well for it.
Descent: Journeys in the Dark
Kickstarted the last one and this one looks so good!
I imagine that portcullis can be a bit of a problem to tool.
Ronnie Renton spoke about kickstarting a rerelease of dwarf kings hold this summer. Imagine if they could offer a set of this as an add on for that. Or even as a component of the basic game!
Since the previous Sci-Fi Kickstarter worked well with Project Pandora there’s no reason this one couldn’t work well with Dwarf King’s Hold 😀
Two of the main boardgames you could use this with have already been mentioned, Descent and Dwarf King’s Hold. I’d also add Super Dungeon Explore to the list. For mini-game you’d be best off with systems that don’t use units. As you’ve already got LotR and Warhammer minis then either LotR:SBG/Hobbit and Mordheim would be good places to start.
Looks really nice, hopefully it can be made to scale in with Dave Graffams stuff
Does anyone know if they use pdf layers on their designs?
Time to dig out the old Warhammer Quest I think 🙂
Well given that Terraclips are out of print, this is a good alternative.
