Battle It Out During The Night With A New Deep-Cut Dropzone Mat
December 7, 2016 by brennon
Deep-Cut Studio has put together another nice new mat for those who want to battle it out in Dropzone Commander. See what you think of this Night Cityscape.
This is a wonderful looking design which is just aching to include some buildings with their lights on, or maybe a blasted set of ruins sitting atop the grid of the city below which continues to come to life at night as the generators kick in.
The street layout obviously helps with the way you set terrain down onto the tabletop and it would be neat to see how someone turns this into a battlefield.
If you pick this up send us some cool photos!

Would definitely suit the Batman Miniatures Game. That’s set exclusively at night.
I’m not sure how well it would scale up to be honest. Might be too many streets on it to fit buildings in at the larger scale?
My mistake man, I’ve a tendency to just assume everything is 28mm!
With the size of the hexes and patters and no road markings, this actually does look more 28mm than 10mm, certainly could use it as such. What are the road widths? 4″
Nah, don’t like it at all.
I think it looks great. you would need to paint the buildings to match the aesthetic but the final result would be a unique and beautiful table.
would work well for infinity RPG for tight ally’s and if you picked up the larger scale one you would get a lot of service out of the two mats.
the 4X4 mat is better you can have a grid of them to the size of mat you need.
Cant get over how 3D it looks.
What a sight, and i mean that in a good way.
wow
Love the C&C look to it – the random hexes etc, I could see this not only as night fighting but as the C&C inside my Nemesis Command walker the cyborg Grand Vizier fighting his (or her as all the kicking off ass in the PHR seem to be done by females) battle on it.
Then it will just need the effect repeated on the terrain and armies.
I’m not feeling the love for this… It looks too multicoloured and like I’m looking at a computer game graphic display rather than a city by night.
I think it would be really tricky to get terrain to match this (and I think you’d need matching terrain or it wouldn’t look very good). Still, I’d like to see if if someone did it.
And choice is never a bad thing!
