Battle Across Bandua Wargames’ Ancient Terrain Collection
April 17, 2020 by brennon
Bandua Wargames has created a new collection of terrain which is great for those of you wanting to play out battles across tabletops littered with the remains of ruined civilizations.
The Ancient Terrain set which you can see here can either come as unpainted pieces such as the Obelisks and Sanctuary piece (shown in the centre) or completely prepainted and ready to use on the battlefield. As well as some MDF kits they have also worked on some fascinating plastic options which look a bit more Sci-Fi.
This means that, as you can see demonstrated here, the terrain would work for those looking to build up a tabletop to suit Sci-Fi worlds as well as Fantasy ones. I think those looming black/obsidian obelisks would be quite terrifying to see looming over your troops. I get the sense that they pulse with power and might even be the key to different worlds!
The range is available HERE in different states of readiness so it's good for those who want to get their hands on budget terrain and something more premium too. I think it looks neat and importantly, it's functional. It makes a statement on the tabletop and provides you with lots of narrative cues when you're playing your games.
What do you think of the Ancient Terrain collection?

The plastic oblelisks look interesting. The Egyptians made obelisks in many types of stone including black granite which would have polished up to look a bit like these when new. Historic ones would have been covered in hieroglyphs and I’m not sure how easy it would be getting paint to adhere to that surface.
You could always try picking up an engraving pen and inscribing your own hieroglyphs on the sides. It’s a bit trickier, but you don’t have to worry about paint flaking off…just make sure you’ve got an EXACT plan before you start…
These are really affordable and good looking, nice!
Nice for alien world table’s.
Nice terrain options!
