@apocryphal go for it mate you will never regret it,
nice grubby / weathered look.
I wonder if any companies produce dedicated mini aerosols. These could work like disposable air brushes. I realise you’d lose some precision, but with a set of basic colours you’d be able to produce some cool weathering techniques.
And, yes, I am essentially looking for a way to avoid having to clean out an airbrush after every use.
This is turning out to be a great series. It’s really helped my air brushing no end. Anyone on the fence regarding an airbrush should dive in……The only thing you’ll regret is that you didn’t do it sooner!

If you are doing anything that would be oily or greasy, get some Tamiya x-19 Smoke.
You apply it like that post shading mix, but it dries glossy and looks like oil without doing anything else to it. Great stuff.
