4thWar Equipment Table Kickstarter Relaunches!
June 16, 2014 by brennon
The 4thWar Equipment Kickstarter has relaunched with a more modest target goal and a few tweaks and changes here and there to make getting these rather nifty products out there to you.
Above you can see just two of the different pledge levels you can aim for. The first is the basic Private pledge which gives you two tables. You could of course go all in with your gaming club and get that rather awesome big pledge that would make any town hall into a battlefield.
Much like before you can also add a selection of table mats that will give you a good looking battlefield in an instant. As well as the sporting pitches you have star-scapes for the likes of X-Wing and of course snowy, desert and forest landscapes.
4thWar have also included this shipping map which shows you the different additional charges that might occur when you're ordering your table and the other additional pledge items. It should give you a good idea of what's ahead.
Do you think you'll be pledging this time (or again)?
Hmm.. I am still not sold on the cardboard. if its a club item then it’s bound to get ruined by some uncoordinated clod. And if its a home item being packed, unpacked, dragged across the carpet and handling kids chewing on the legs is sure to ruin it.
I do need a table at home, think I will make a similar 3table set out of plywood.
Simple, I took the option of no kids, and laminate flooring, so that eliminates the chewing and dragging across the carpet, although why you would drag it along when its really light is another matter lol
Kids! Our pet rats could have that down in no time.
Same with my bulldog! 🙂
Looks complicated.
I will need thorough instructions by that lovely brunette.
I tried Googling for more “instructions” and drew a blank…
I don’t see it being as successful as it would have been if they had done there due diligence in finding shipping solutions instead of just a big FU to everybody except EU.
must admit I like the idea but my dog loves to eat cardboard hell he even likes to eat wooden tables
i still don’t see this being a big thing, i know the guys managed to put Justin on top of some but lets be honest, Justin doesn’t represent the average body type of us gamers :/ it just looks like it can all be knocked over quite easily if someone accidentally knocks it
“Justin doesn’t represent the average body type of us gamers”
True…
But it’s a table for terrain and minis, not a raised bed for gamers 😉
It’s sturdy enough for sure 🙂
WOW I’ve never seen a Kickstarter that was just like “Nope if you don’t live in the EU you can’t have it”. I mean at least give the option of paying for ridiculous shipping!
I agree. IMO I don’t think they should be using a USA based project launcher if there not even will to ship to the USA.
Nah. I’ll still stick with my fold up bridge tabels thanks.
I’m sorry, but every time I see this stuff pop up, this is all I can think of: http://dilbert.com/strips/comic/1991-03-25/
4th War has met their revised goal of $13,000 (I ponied up for the three tables in the bag) and are unlocking stretch goals now.
imo you can keep it !!!!!!!!!!!!! would not waste time or money on it .
i think its a great idea buuuuut… I wouldnt have the room to set it up. The wife uses my games room as a dining room and theres a bloody great table in there.
What it has done is inspired me to build a 4 x 4 tabletop board and a 2 x 4 board out of mdf and will be adding magnets to join the two.
50% of Gamers will relate to your comment biggabum,
The other half are not married
Dictionary definition of a gamers wife:
A woman who spends the best years of her life puzzled by the fact that her husband can spend 2 weeks painting a 28mm toy soldier with such precision, yet only takes 30 mins painting the bathroom and gets paint all over the ceiling, door frames and light switch.
Damn stupid to have it as EU only,
So they want to sell it only to less then half of the Gaming World.
And labelling themselves EU friendly is a bit redundant when you can only get it in the EU.
Would have considered it otherwise.
;(
and now unlocked also “only mat” pledge!

I think this idea has its uses, for example easy to build tables at a con which can be trashed or given away at the end. However, it does not fill a long term need for personal gaming tables. Eventually, the card board will weaken and the table will be useless. For the money they are asking for I want something that will last a decade ir more, not a couple of years. Also why so quick on the relaunch? I really wonder how much they have changed to the table or the campaign.
Just a quick update. I kickstarted this and the tables are still being taken away to weekenders with friends as well as being used at home. They have lasted really well (only 1 coffee mug ring stain to show for 6 years of usage). They have happily taken the GW Realms of Battle Boards as well as any mats we have used on them. Great for a mobile quick fix. One thing to note. The advantage these have over wallpaper pasting tables is the height. They are a perfect height for tabletop gaming. Something to bare in mind when looking… Read more »
