4Ground Show Off Skylabs Mighty MAMMOTH Vehicle
September 7, 2020 by brennon
4Ground has released another kit from their collaboration with Skylabs Terrain as they introduced another M.A.M.M.O.T.H for your troops to mount up in. This is the new Gunmetal variant which seems very well suited to grimdark worlds.
M.A.M.M.O.T.H // Skylabs Terrain
The name for this beast means Military And Medical Mobile Operations Trauma Hub and provides you with a rolling way to keep your troops in the fighting and also allow for a little bit of cover when you come under heavy fire.
As you can see, the terrain breaks down into various components allowing you to set it up for skirmishes and the like. As well as being good for use in Warhammer 40,000 this could also work for a game like Star Wars: Legion.
M.A.M.M.O.T.H Interior // Skylabs Terrain
I like the Gunmetal paint scheme on this one and the little details done in that lighter colour too which help break up the armour panels. It would work as a good blank canvas for you to then add to and develop as you see fit. You could daub some graffiti on the side for example if you wanted to make this a bit more quirky and perhaps deployed as part of a less organised army.
Do you think you'll be picking up a M.A.M.M.O.T.H?

Skylabs makes some awesome terrain kits.
Hey GW are you seeing this? TRACKS! Mud-flocking-TRACKS! On a MDF kit…..
this looks shiny
That looks amazing.
Why not make your own out of a cereal box, it will look just as bad? MDF and vehicles really doesn’t work.
We need a Dune wargame and what we have here are the sand harvestors.
The spice must flow.
Dune trailer is out on Youtube
yes looks good but very close to the first film.
Great for snow or dessert mat/games.
For MDF this looks pretty good. Nice!
I’d do some extra finish work to try and lose the mdf’ish look, but that’s just me.
I’d be interested in a kit without paint already on it.
They’re available unpainted direct from Skylabs
Not a fan of this one (looks like the kind of thing you would get back in the 80s with your action figures of the day), it’s simply too large.
Great looking kit
I think this is a bridge to far as it pertains to MDF uses…
It just doesn’t look that good, on its own. That is the big key to me. On its own, it just doesn’t work. However, as the base for some heavy conversion… now that is something else all together.
It would need to be have lots of bits added to it, and just use it as a base to add more “body” too.
This isn’t good and expensive for what it is. I get that 4Ground puts this out in collaboration with independent designers, but they are still investing time and effort into projects lately that can’t be particularly profitable. Duplicating a lot of the 40K terrain in pdf that GW has put out doesn’t strike me as a huge potential market. This is a similar sort of thing.
