4Ground & Vanguard Tactics Raise Necrotek Ruins Terrain
August 13, 2020 by brennon
4Ground and Vanguard Tactics have been showing off some more pieces of terrain for those playing Warhammer 40,000 and want some competitive yet cool looking options. This new set is the Necrotek Ruins which works nicely alongside the Gothic Ruins they have already revealed.
Necrotek Ruins (Copper) // 4Ground
There are three different colours of terrain for you to pick up from 4Ground. You have Copper, Blued Steel and Gunmetal which should work for all manner of different Necron dynasties. It has been optimised for competitive play and tactical placement on the tabletop, working as good blocking terrain and with plenty of room for soldiers to take shelter.
Necrotek Ruins (Blued Steel) // 4Ground
If you've picked up the new Indomitus boxed set or you have Necrons in your collection already then this seems like the right kind of terrain for you to be looking at. It might be a little simpler in design but it does the job of creating cover and avenues of fire on the tabletop.
Necrotek Ruins (Gunmetal) // 4Ground
If you're into the competitive side of wargaming for Warhammer 40,000 then this would be a good range to look at in general. If you're also interested in a "blank slate" as it were that you could then customise to your liking, that is also an option. I think that these Necrotek Ruins, in particular, would look good build into the side of something natural, jutting out of the planet surface.
Are you tempted by these for your grimdark collection?

I’ve no plans to collect grimdark space skeletons but I really like theae. The glitchy edges are brilliant.
I had no idea that I need it until I have seen it.
It’s a different take on terrain I will give them that, I’m not sure the look is for me but certainly give the designer points for pushing the boat out and coming up with a new design. Non GW Tau type buildings I’d like to see, they are probably out there on the tinternet someplace and I don’t play 40K but I’ve read about them and the rounded sweeping architecture sounds appealing for a gaming table
Micro Arts Studio do some not Tau buildings. They’d definitely fit a good few sci-fi settings.
That’s grand thanks, went over to look in your recommendation and yeah that’s the type of design I had in my head, lovely stuff, like the Hive pieces too. Of course now I’ve found they do disc world minis as well so I’m distracted ?
Sorry for your wallet
On the other hand that’s just sorted out a Diskworld Christmas present for my buddy so Top directions ?
That is some nice looking terrain.
