4Ground – Fabled Realms Terrain Talk
February 16, 2018 by dignity
We're talking with Luke from 4Ground about some of the buildings currently available and coming out for their Fabled Realms range, and how you might use them in other games.
Fabled Realms is a 28mm skirmish game which was successfully crowdfunded last year.
Have you got plans for this terrain in your games?

Elven tree buildings? Perhaps hollowed out great trees where the exterior is the outer bark and the interior is built into organically designed rooms. Something like Lothlórien.
I would love to see some Elf structures too. @Beetle beat me to it. I think Rivendell style buildings might be easier using mdf however, than tree structures. But I don’t doubt that 4ground couldn’t find a way.
I think some sort of big library would be cool, could be a very objective-heavy building, especially in a world where magic is a learned skill. So… basically some non-such university buildings. Some of the pieces could even be compatible with the Harry potter minis coming out in the future, even though I have no idea how those rules will work.
What about Bailey bridges or bunkers/sandbagged dugouts to go with the damaged buildings.
I absolutely love this range of buildings. Having a village of my own now I can’t wait for the game to arrive!! Me and my boys have been playing frostgrave and weve also had some napoleonic soldiers running around them too recently.
Future wise I’d love to see some non human buildings too. Maybe elven or ork? When I say ork I mean fabled realms style orks that do know what theyre doing rather than a bunch of rubbish thrown together.
