Build A 28mm Japanese Village With OSHIROmodels’ Kickstarter
March 27, 2024 by brennon
OSHIROmodels are currently on Kickstarter looking to fund the creation of their 28mm Japanese Village. If you're playing games like Test Of Honour, Kensei or Ronin then you can't go wrong with a rural idyll.

This set has been designed to match the hamlets and villages that would have dotted Japan during the Sengoku period and beyond. Mostly one-room dwellings, these are prefect for representing the different buildings that would have been there during the period. This is a remastered set based on the original buildings which were extensively researched in Japan.

Thanks to their design, these seem perfect for use in smaller skirmish games where you might want to sneak in and out of buildings before ambushing your enemies. Build a bunch of these together and you could also have the backdrop to a larger battle. Just make sure to prepare the pitch and fire arrows!

There is a really nice crop of buildings for you to choose from. Some are smaller dwellings for individuals whilst you also have working buildings like the mill above. There are also options which can be turned into nice farmhouses as well if you so desire.

This is a really neat little collection and seems timed perfectly. With Shogun getting a lot of people back to the tabletop to play Samurai wargames, it's good to have some terrain to snap up to make authentic tabletops.
You can grab smaller or larger collections of these resin buildings right now over on their Kickstarter allowing you to make that little hamlet you require for your next scenario or a portion of a much larger settlement that might cover a bigger tabletop.
Will you be checking these out?
A have a couple of the buildings from before this redesign with the removable roofs; they are really nice pieces, well worth checking out.
