Coppermine Miniatures Ride Out With The Steampunk Cog Division
March 25, 2016 by brennon
Coppermine Miniatures are on Kickstarter right now looking to fund their rather awesome looking Steampunk cavalry known as the Cog Division...
Here's some of the background to this heavy metal cavalry unit...
"The year is 1882 and Queen Victoria has ordered the Household Cavalry to raise a new elite Division. They are to be mounted on specially adapted Mitchell Mechanical Steam Horse built in Worcester. This new unit is to be known as the Cog Division and have a new unique uniform, have a Ladies unit and also have Mounted Machine Gunners using Gatling Guns.
All these new fangled weapons are to be deployed on the streets of London and across the Empire to defend the Realm, fighting the Queens enemies and conquering new lands. The Cog Division will also play a ceremonial role, protecting and escorting Her Majesty on her travels around Great Britain visiting her subjects."
You can get a variety of interesting units here including melee options for your riders as well as ranged options too.
These are some nifty looking miniatures and I could see you dropping in some of these models into an old school Empire army. You could have them as part of the Engineers Guild who have decided that metal is better than flesh.
Additionally they are also working towards ladies squadrons and there's even a way to make your own rider at a certain level.
What do you think?

interesting.
Now that’s how steam punk cavalry should look like.
Anyone else thinking Rough Riders?
