Statuesque’s Heroic Scale Techno Roider Heads Available Now
February 16, 2018 by brennon
Statuesque Miniatures are going to be making the grognards seeth with anger as they showed off their Techno Roider Heads, now available over on their webstore.
Each of the heads has been designed for female characters and in heroic scale meaning that they work perfectly for...you guessed it, Space Marines!
I think these look awesome, especially here when used alongside the new Primaris models. You could create a rather epic looking Chapter of Female Space Marines, ready to crunch the skulls of Xenos scum beneath their boots!
There is sheer stupidity to the fact that Games Workshop hasn't done something to solve this problem with their genetically engineered supersoldiers, especially now in 8th Edition. This means that you can redress the balance and maybe even have a completely mixed force for your own homebrew Chapter.
You can see them here above used on some of the smaller Space Marine models too wearing older MKIV Armour. I think that I'd use the heads sparingly, maybe for unit leaders and special weapon operators. This means that you make each of them feel a bit more special and still reminds those looking at your army that they're an all-female force.
What do you think?

They would be great for necromunda as well
For sure; maybe Female Orlocks?
At first I didn’t care because I thought they were for Necromunda Escher and I prefer the Glam Rock aesthetic, but then I saw the female primaris and they look great, but female Orlocks, man. That is so cool…
Is the Orlock sprue 100% male bodies and heads? That seems like a missed opportunity to add more diversity to the gangs.
I like the eighties look! Fits the old space marine models.
It’s a real shame GW couldn’t figure out this little thing. These heads are great and way, way, way past due.
Though I still maintain that once you become a space marine, you’re now genderless. What you were before is so long gone it doesn’t matter. You’re an it, not a him or her.
Really like the genderless idea 😀
Statuesque already has a variety of great female heads. I’ll be picking some up shortly, to compliment those I got from Victoria Miniatures. I’m using them on my human Traveler combat team, which is composed of Dreamforge Eisenkern infantry and their excellent female jaeger figures.
Reminds me of a early 1990s art commission for a Space Crusade computer game on Commodore.
The marines include a lookalike Dan Dare, Han Solo, bionic Hicks and a blonde and brunette spacemarine…. um…. I give up – just look at the picture

Made me think of speedball 2
Space Marines wouldn’t have a gender, surly?
over-muscled, out-of-proportion sculpts, in-armour – only gender identifying features would be facial?
‘… and don’t call me Shirley’
– Airplane!
Aeneas the Tactician says you can dress women in Hoplite armour if your city is being besieged and the enemy are doing a head-count of defenders.
But he warns – don’t let them throw anything! 🙂
Been thinking about doing one or two primaris into sisters of battle for a skirmism mission and the other heads they sell are really good so now I might have a go at it.
