New Star Wars: The Last Jedi Trailer Hits!
October 10, 2017 by brennon
It's that time again. A new The Last Jedi trailer has hit for the latest Star Wars movie and this one is a doozie!
We've been told you really SHOULD NOT watch this trailer if you don't want some major plot points spoilt for you.
Well, there we go, give it a watch above and let us know what you think of the new trailer for the upcoming movie.
With that; May The Force Be With You!

Still hyperventilating.
Not sure if they are spoilers or just very devious editing to stoke the engines of the hype train.
Either way, it worked, I’m incredibly excited for this. I am once again back in 1977.
Devious editing and misdirection I think. I am so excited.
Maybe I am just still disappointed by the last one but this video hasn’t really inspired me. The main star wars story is currently in the Last Chance Saloon as far as I’m concerned. If this is as good as episode VII I probably won’t bother with IX.
Agreed. The TFA trailers looked very promising but ultimately the movie failed to make me feel.. anything. It wasn’t good, nor was it bad, but it wasn’t a film I could like let alone love (and believe me, I can love a ‘bad’ film!). The new Last Jedi trailer makes me feel like the movie is trying to get free drinks at a bar with credibility that it doesn’t actually have.
“That’ll be five pounds, please.”
“But I’m mysterious! Wooooooooooo! Don’t you want to know more?”
TFA is the only Star Wars film I haven’t watched again since I left the cinema. It’s just not that good.
only 64 sleeps to go, not that I’ve been counting from 300 when the date was released or anything
I got more excitement from this than the justice league trailer and I’m a massive batman fan.
I am huge Wonder Woman fan and this trailer also dis more to me than JL one. Then again JL also have awesome Aquaman that might help make him look cool to those who don’t read comics and doesn’t already know that he is cool.
That’s a pretty low bar though. I was underwhelmed by this trailer and I still got more excitement out of it than Justice League
Loved the space hamster moment………..
The porg? I just hope they turn out more BB-8 and less… Jar-Jar
I think a bit of wee came out…
Balls to bones every single time. STAR WARS number 1.
Looks promising. Then again I am one those that actually like TFA instead of hating everything about it.
They have been very careful not to show too much and that has made all Star Wars channels make theories based on what we have been shown.
TFA is one of those things it has become hip to hate on.
Just like… dun dun dun.. the prequels lol. But they were a perfect example of some not so great movies that I could love, versus a better yet soulless move that I could not.
I loved the Prequels always have. Found TFA disappointing. Wouldn’t say I hated it but it was definitely sub-par. It gets a 5/10 in my book, which is generally “worth a watch on DVD”. The problem with the next film is, the scene has been set by episode VII but unfortunately that scene is part of the problem I have with the new films so I really can’t see it improving. If they tried I think some of the characters could easily be improved (Finn looks a lot more badass in that trailer conversely Kylo looks every bit as unimpressive).… Read more »
Don’t know anyone who hates TFA. Know a fair few who think it’s just okay, yours truly among them.
I have seen a few people online who clearly hate it. But Nerd rage isn’t something I am prone to so I would say I was disappointed. Hate is quite a strong word for something that has relatively little effect in my life
why do you find it soulless @siygess mate?
@onlyonepinman hate is a strong word but so are statements like pisses all over the original trilogy. an awful lot of people don’t feel that way.
It does piss all over the original. The same people are doing the same things they were at the start of episode IV – the only thing that’s changed is the names. Rebel Alliance is now The Resistance, the Empire is now the First Order. But beyond that they’re exactly the same in principle, in concept and in aesthetic. Add to that the Happy Ending at the end of Return of the Jedi somehow turned into a self imposed exile and a broken family ultimately turning many a person’s childhood hero – Han Solo – into a sad, broken old… Read more »
It’s soul less because it has no soul. It’s full of unlikable characters (or sad echoes or previously great characters) and everyone on the good side is just amazingly good at everything. At no point in the film do you ever really think the First Order are going to get away with it.
As a film it trades heavily on its brand – and its brand is surely why I will probably see this new film. But if it’s anything like VII then IX will be a watch on DVD
They had me at Ape-ATs
Booked
me to mate. midnight showing every time.
The poster is pretty awesome.

I think Viz’s merchandising attempt is better

Oh my…. 😀 .
This has me VERY excited for the next film!
More great miniatures to put in my games.
I know I am not a huge Star wars fan but that was underwealming. Rogue one may may spoiled me.
Still playing up the very ambiguous about who will be good or evil.
Definitely going to watch it to find out though. Even if the story will be a let-down. I like the visual styling.
hay its starwars we will all watch it good or bad probably several times.
@onlyonepinman that’s funny mate as touching all the key notes of the OT was kind of the point of the movie for both the old guard and the new. in fact i’d go as far as to say it was almost essential they did so. to say it is soulless is to say STAR WARS its self is so as in your own admission it hits all the same key notes. STAR WARS touches on the deepest spiritual ideals and calling it soulless seems like the wrong choice of words to criticize STAR WARS with. so who in the new… Read more »
It might have been the point but it well and truly missed the mark. It tried to make too many nods back to the OT and ultimately ended up just being a remake of them. It lacked character and originality and was left offering very little beyond some pretty space battles.
@emptynessisform Well said. I couldn’t agree more. I find myself tired to all negativity in internet surrounding sequel trilogy from angry fanboys every time there is new trailer or there is even talk about sequel trilogy. And most complains that I have heard can be easily explained or have been explained by books.
In fiction anything can be explained because it’s fiction – an explanation doesn’t make it good fiction though. And if a film is only explained by a book it’s a bad film, I paid to watch a film I shouldn’t have to also read a book that explains what happened between the last film and the current one in order to understand it. But here’s the kicker – I don’t want an explanation what happened between the films, what I really want is some kind of explanation as to why they decided to completely undermine the original trilogy by making… Read more »
@onlyonepinman fingers crossed then they to turn it round for you this time my mate.
We shall see. If not hopefully the spin offs will continue to hit the mark. It’s not completely beyond hope.
I all honesty, I’m rather underwhelmed. But then again, I’m not exactly a Star Wars fan these days.
The Force Awakens was a barely watchable mess and Rogue One wasn’t must better. And going by this trailer, The Last Jedi won’t be any better.
I’ll see this not quite 40 years from the time I saw Star Wars in 1977… the trailer looks great.
@onlyonepinman You might not know it but those prequel movies that you like so much also needed books to make them better and give them more depth. For example ROTS is better after you read book version were they show things like what Anakin was thinking when he get rejected as Jedi Master, reason why he wanted it so bad and how it effected to him betraying Jedi Order. And those are badly made movies that had good ideas but had lacking execution while TFA is good well made movie that continues story. Since you don’t read books and comic… Read more »
I watched the Prequels, understood them just fine. No further reading was required.
TFA is a pretty looking movie that is fairly thin on plot. And while it might technically continue the story – nobis really disputing that – this in itself doesn’t make it original or enjoyable. It is still essentially an almost carbon copy of episode IV and still pretty much ruins the original three films by turning the original happy ending into a tragedy.
@onlyonepinman If you think that sequels ruins original trilogy then you are deluded because nothing ruins originals. Prequels didn’t do that and sequels don’t do that either. They are still there for you to enjoy so you don’t need to try to ruin other people’s enjoyment over it. And for some one who claims not to hate TFA you sure like to talk about how you don’t like it. If you don’t hate TFA and it doesn’t have effect to your life then why do you use so much time and effort to write how much you hate it.
Sure they do…
Take Halo 5 as an example. It ends up completely destroying the ending of Halo 4, rewriting it entirely and rendering Cortana’s sacrifice a moot point, almost like a joke.
Star Wars is another example. In the original trilogy, Darth Vader was an absolute badass, a truly iconic villain. Having seen the new trilogy, I just can’t stop wondering how a whiny brat like Anakin could ever turn into Darth Vader.
The Matrix sequels kind of ruin the the original too. Original film is an amazing piece of cinema and the film left with a great, open ending that really just asked more questions. The sequels spoiled it by answering those questions and not doing a particularly good job of it.
Sequels don’t implicitly ruin their predecessors. Star Wars The Forces Awakens however does
Why do I spend so much time and effort talking about it? Well maybe if people didn’t keep trying to explain to me how I am wrong and how the Force Awakens is an amazing film if only you had read the books!
And yeah I don’t read the books and I am not particularly interested in the Legends material. At no point did I think everything was resolved by the death of the Emperor. However it still doesn’t change the fact that the original Star Wars had what all good stories have – a happy ending. The Good Guys Won, Ham and Leah got together etc etc. And them TFA basically “nope, just kidding” and turns all oyr heroes outcomes to shit. The Empire still exists, Han and Leah get Divorced, luke fucks up the Jedi academy. Thanks a bunch JJ; thanks… Read more »
