Let’s Play: Star Wars Legion – 600 Point Upgraded Battle
February 14, 2018 by dignity
Welcome back to the vicious hostile environment of Endor! We're back for another game of Star Wars: Legion by Fantasy Flight Games.

In this game, we've upped the points value to 600 which means additional Stormtroopers and Force upgrades for Gerry and an extra AT-RT walking around the battlefield for Justin.
We have five objective points in this game and with the beautiful terrain by Battle Kiwi and the grasslands mat from GameMat.EU, we're sure to have an awesome time on the tabletop.
Which is your favourite ability so far?

I… LOVE…. THIS!!!!!!!!
I don’t care too much about the game..I JUST WANT THE MINIS!!! NOW..! 😉
Another epic video, I also like the PS work of @avernos projecting his own hologram.
Totally agree with above!!!
I want ( need ? ) it all 😀 .
Truly epic, all the more with that marvellous battlekiwi terrain. The plan of the rebels was quite good, alas for these not awesome but awful dice rolls … wasn´t meant to be.
My favourite abilities are all those having to do with Jedi/Sith powers.
And while we´re at it: Are those BoW dice bags for sale somewhere? Today´s the first day they caught my attention.
The placement of the landing plattform in conjunction with the overview camera angle was, let us say suboptimal 😀
Otherwise a very nice and enjoyable video. Thumbs up. A few days back I was pretty sure I’m not going to buy Legion. I’m not so sure now. You nearly convinced me 😀
that’s my fault I make nice tables and don’t care about cameras the the like, because that’s his job. 😉
I thought odd placement at beginning but to be honest totally forgot about it as game went on.
Duse’s look to be a great game to play.
@dignity, why do you dodge with the walkers? their armor takes care of normal hits, the crits go through dodge as well, right? So no reason for dodges.
the models look great ,the gameplay looks solid and fun to play but i am starting to get a little concerned about legion has this is a 600pts game so only 200 of what is supposed to be standard game and its looking a bit lightweight in terms of models and lacks that epic feel its main rival has. Now i don’t play 40k but got to admit it looks pretty impressive on the tabletop at the standard game size for legion to capture that same epic feel it really needs to be played at around the 1000 to 1200… Read more »
I have to agree, especially when you see the 800pt game. The costing of the units doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room but playing at 1200 or even 1500 wouldn’t be an issue and would allow some decent forces to hit the table. I get the feeling that FFG is aiming this at tournament players like x-wing and by setting it at 800 they remove big spam builds and keep it tight enough to play in a reasonable time frame. But definitely go big with your games more is more as @warzan would say
ok this video was great (go Vader!)…but I can’t wait for the 1500pt grudge match! Oh yeh and get @warzan and @Lloyd to do blow by blow cricket commentary during the action ;D
Thanks to @avernos and @dignity for another great game, been nice to come home from and find them sitting on U-tube, chilled out to them.
Interesting game mechanics, do have a similarity to x wing,(nothing wrong with that).
Bloody good paint job by John given how much time he had, buy that man whattever he likes to drink!
Think they’d work well on my Desert (Tatooine?) hexon terrain.
I had my fingers crossed the 800 pointer would drop today ? Please tell me it’s going up tomorrow ?
Yea I’m ready to see the 800 point battle and it damn well better have an ATST and a Snow speeder! Also to address the point cap at the moment. I would say Legion will follow suit the likes of SW Armada, where initially the point cap was set at 300 and as more ships came out they bumped standard tournament list to 400. I surmise we will most likely see at some point a bump to 1000 for Legion.
Very nice game and terrain.
Good description of play.
One thing, refighting big battles may not work too well, think Endor or the jedda city fight.
Still, will have to give it a go.
Thanks to beasts of war for this video review and this series, love your star wars stuff especially the AT AT vlog.
Really enjoying this Legion play’s, always feels fun and exciting. Nice to see Vader feeling very thematic on the tabletop, powerful, dangerous and indeed implacable.
