Spartan Games Strike From The Skies In Firestorm Planetfall
July 27, 2015 by brennon
Spartan Games have shown off what's flying in to support your ground troops for all of the factions in Firestorm Planetfall which is their ground combat game. See what you think of the models below which are looking exceedingly awesome...
Strike From The Skies
Starting things off we have a look at the Helix formations for the Aquan Prime, Dindrenzi and the Sorylians. I like the alien look of the Aquan but the Dindrenzi have always been the winner for me when it comes to looks in Firestorm.
Aquan Prime Aerial Interceptor Helix
Dindrenzi Federation Aerial Interceptor Helix
Sorylian Collective Aerial Interceptor Helix
Even the Sorylians are looking particularly epic in these Helix formations and the three ships there look like they have embraced a bit of the podracer and/or Covenant dropships from Halo in their design.
Terran Alliance Aerial Interceptor Helix
The Directorate Aerial Interceptor Helix
The Relthoza Aerial Interceptor Helix
The only set of models I'm not totally won over by is the final one for the Relthoza. I can see what they've been going for, giving them a more organic look, but I don't think it works for me - especially the large dragonfly type vehicle.
The Terran by comparison are looking awesome and I could see them looking at home in Dropzone Commander.
Have you been looking out for these for Planetfall?

Those are some really nice ships. I like Aquan Prime and Terran Alliance ships most.
The Terran Alliance are cool, they look like a mashup of current military aircraft and Robotech. The Sorylian ships also look great too.
If the Aquan one is at GenCon, It is so baught
All of them look cool..save two. Sorylians got freaking pod racers, because obviously a highly advanced race of engineers would have space-chariots, and relthoza, which are just sad joke that looks more at home in Power Rangers than a wargame.
Good grief. These look amazing… makes my DZC or Planetfall decision so much tougher!
You took the words right out of my mouth….or keyboard.
Just spotted, the tags at the top of the page show 15mm. Whilst I guess it’s arguable, don’t Spartan call this a 10mm game?
yes. it’s poor research on BoW
Cheers for pointing that out @superfurrymaniac – I think I clicked the wrong option when I was writing the post. Oops.
BoW Ben
@brennon apologies if that came across wrong. Reading my words back it seemed somewhat more harsh sounding than I’d intended.
some nice looking ships their.
The Dragonfly ship might look good making an appearance in a Home Raiders game…
They all look great .Not sure about the Dragonfly style ones though but its a personal preference and they are nice sculpts
These are lovely! Such distinct themes without being overly stereotyped. The dragonfly is pushing it a little but with a brighter colour scheme it will look stunning.
