Wargames Atlantic Preview Lizardmen & World War I French
December 3, 2020 by brennon
Wargames Atlantic are sculpting all sorts of interesting things at the moment from Historical miniatures through to troops which would be a better fit for Pulp adventures and Sci-Fi clashes. We start with their Lizardmen who are still in the works but got previewed in painted form recently.
Lizardman Example // Wargames Atlantic
On the one hand, you had this fellow here who is armed with a musket and looks like he might have come from a 70s Pulp adventure movie. He could also work very nicely in a Fantasy setting too if you wanted to give your Lizardmen a bit of an edge!
Heading into the realms of Sci-Fi we also have this Lizardman wearing a gas mask and rocking an automatic rifle. Something for the Post-Apocalypse maybe?

Once again, Wargames Atlantic have shown that they can be superbly inventive when it comes to what they bring to the tabletop. With such a wealth of games out there that cover various genres, it's nice to see a company working to try and offer up interesting and different miniatures to plug gaps in ranges and provide you with something unique to try.
World War I French
As well as the Lizardman we also got a look at more of the options which will be present on the World War I French Infantry sprues.

Not all the parts will make the cut but there is a good array of options already presented here for those who want to fight as the beleaguered French during The Great War. You've got those classic jackets and hats which are so synonymous with the French during this period and plenty of weapons with which to fight back the Germans.
I love that we've also got a few extra accessories in the works too like that sabre and machete alongside packs, pistols, rifles and more. It means you can have a lot of fun with this plastic kit when it comes to building up your regiment.
What do you make of these new previews from Wargames Atlantic?

“Lizardmen & World War 1 French” I love Wargames Atlantic! Bonkers release schedule aside WW1 French is an itch I’ve had for a while. New year New army? ?
I really like what Wargames Atlantic do. The lizardmen set is like the recent released spiders set before – the sprues come with stuff for both fantasy and sci-fi. On their website there’s also a sneaky shot of another kit that’s coming out soon – Napoleonic British Rifles.
Well this is interesting and unexpected. Who would had though about combining lizardmen and WWI French but those mad men of Wargames Atlantic did just that.
Brilliant I’m defiantly putting together a bolt action game with the assault lizards. Will play out the Harry Turtledove World War mission where the soviets and nazis team up to steal radioactive chunks from the space lizards outside a small town called Chernobyl. The Great War french are tasty too but love the lizards.
Just what I was thinking a great series of book’s.
Quick get the cinnamon to the troops?
@Lloyd have you read them yet?
Love those books have the entire series in hardback as read the paperbacks to death. Has to be the Chernobyl mission although I’d just have to add Dresfarb the addicted addict hunter so maybe a little skorzeny / jäger action on the Adriatic either way I’m defo getting me some assault lizards.
Im always thinking the IS’3 tank could be a great alien tank for gaming?
I like how you think ?
Love the lizard soldiers, the French troops could work well with the British flintlock force?
This brand is the only one who nowadays gets me excited after every release. Also their WWI range is already the best out in the market (for those who don’t love chunky metal miniatures).
Ecstatic! Soon as the plastic French are available I’ll be diving into some WW1 gaming. The lizardmen are interesting, I’ve got my old Lizardmen army in a box somewhere so skink proxies with guns? Could be fun!
STOP MAKING STUFF I WANT, WARGAMES ATLANTIC!!!
Ugh, just when I think I’ve had enough models, they come out with something new and crazy I just HAVE to have!
Question for those more knowledgeable in the French Forces , would these work for early WW2 French Colonial troops . Are the rifles / squad automatic weapons correct for the early WW2 period ?
They would work. The uniforms and weapons are exactly the same.
Excellent . Thanks
The Lizards?
