Icarus Miniatures Get Ready For New Kickstarter
September 7, 2016 by brennon
Icarus Miniatures are going to be heading back onto Kickstarter on Friday 16th September with their awesome looking Sci-Fi game, the Icarus Project. So far they've shared what's going to appear in the two main Starter Sets for the game and given us a peek at some new models too.
Inside this set you'll get...
- The Gunslinger
- Alliance Trooper with LMG
- Alliance Trooper 2 (Firing)
- Female Alliance Trooper
- Alliance Outrider Scout
...but if you prefer the Nexus then you can pick up their set.
Inside here you're going to get some epic aliens...
- The Assassin
- The Brawler
- 2x Feral Nexus
- Nexus Grunt 1 (Running)
Additionally there will be stretch goals for you to sink your teeth into as well which will feature the likes of free miniatures, weapon upgrades and alternative head upgrades. If you're already getting stoked for this see what you think of some of the miniatures.
Above you can see the Alliance Outrider that will feature as part of your Starter Set. She looks great as she's pointing out her target ready to blast it away with that rifle of hers.
The Nexus are some of the best looking aliens out there however so we were rather overjoyed to see the Brawler...
...and the Assassin.
You can see some more shots of these miniatures HERE including some renders of what more of the Alliance Troopers will look like.
Do you think you'll be backing this one?

Those are some nice looking miniatures.
I do like those snipers, that nexus Assassin is pretty good but there’s something about that Alliance sniper’s relaxed pose, that sort of nonchalant attitude seems quite intimidating 🙂
what scale is this game ?
@ vandelli – they’re billed as 35 mm, but scale really well down to 28mm. I have a load already, and they are beautifully sculpted.
I remember this one from last year and I have to agree the aliens are very nice .the art work for the gunslinger seemed to go down well on beasts of war and the art style in general is pretty good. I like the setting too. but on a personal note its going to have to be one hell of a game to drag me away from infinity . can totally understand someone getting into this mind as it does look good .it could find its way into my collection in future if i can find the time and if… Read more »
I like the figures.
I really like the aliens and the outrider for the humans looks great. One of the reasons I’ve never gotten into infinity is that it seems like all humans. The Nexus are my army if I get into this.
I believe It’s going back to kickstarter to try and fund the starter set production on a larger scale. More product means more retailers can pick it up, more people involved mean more sales and so on. I think the plan is do build a larger fan Base so that they can begin the process of creating the next starter sets for some rather awesome looking aliens (check their blog to see them) and then their rulebook.
@jammyjim thanks , I’ll go have a look . i’m sure the aliens will be very cool and i’m defiantly interested in looking at the rules.
makes sense , kingdom death is going down that route with their 2nd kickstarter .
As always, awesome arts and miniatures ! But the rules are boring, nothing new, nothing surprising. I’m not speaking of easy/hard to get into but about fun in game.
Anyway, with a goal of 5.000$, they will have their products on the market for sure.
You say boring, I think uninspiring might be better. Nothing groundbreaking, but not anything wrong either. However, it is more about characters then some smaller team skirmish games.
I backed their first attempt, I bought some miniatures from them (they look great) and I will back this project too. I never read/used the rules, just for the miniatures.
i myself cant wait. backed the 1st attempt and the minis’ i’ve picked up are great!
