Wargames Atlantic has now put up pre-release options for their new 28mm plastic Lizardmen that can be used in Fantasy, Sci-Fi and Pulp games on the tabletop. You get twenty-four of these blighters in this set!

The miniatures in this set are looking fantastic and were sculpted by the hand of Thieu Duong. The painting on these miniatures here was then done by Matthew Leahy! As mentioned above, there are a lot of options in this set allowing you to build these Lizardmen in a variety of ways.

Included in this pack you'll find options for regular swords and spears which fulfil that Fantasy archetype. Beyond that, you've got the option to give them muskets and auto-rifles! This, alongside the head options and accessories, allow you to make Lizardmen that would work for classic Fantasy games but also Pulpy "Lost World" adventures too.

The thing that's nice about these miniatures is that they give you the look and feel of Fantasy Lizardmen without reverting to the Aztec/Mayan aesthetic. You get the sense that they could fit into a jungle-setting but they'd equally be at home in a variety of other locations too. I really like the thought that they could be used in Sci-Fi games and I think it would be fun to see them painted up in a more alien style.
I am already thinking about the possibilities of using these Lizardmen in the likes of Stargrave...
Are you going to be snapping up this set of Lizardmen?
"I think it would be fun to see them painted up in a more alien style..."
Star Trek Gorn. There, I said it. Everybody now needs a James T. Kirk mini and then build beautiful dioramas.
Also that statue in the background…. that’s Conan’s Thulsa Doom.
I bought that statue as a result of that photo
Please share where you found it!? My google-fu is failing even with the Conan hint

Fantastic – thank you!
They will be great for alternative history game’s
Shame they don’t have more modern weapons for playing harry turledove worldwar series?
They actually do! It’s not shown in any of these pics, but their sprues also come with gas masks and Tommy guns.
Ooh nice one thanks for that.
Yep will be picking these up ?
They look good. I’ll have to get hold of some. No idea what for but maybe just a fun project.
get some cowboys and play skirmish games using them based on the Bloodstone books by David Gemmell
I always saw you as “the Jerusalem man” @avernos
they have looked upon me with their mouths, as a ravenous and roaring lion.
I would have to see what the auto rifles look like, but with some additions from the bits box I could make these into Axolotl mercenaries from the Gaunt’s Ghosts series.
There’s pictures of them on the WA website :

They look more like oddly proportioned AK47s than 40k weaponry, but they do look super-easy to replace.
They look nice, I didnt know I wanted them until I saw them
Love them,
and even if yo don’t want them as is the heads and tails can be used to convert other SF minis into lizard aliens
As with all Wargames Atlantic releases, I just have one thing to say…
GIMME!!!!
Those look really nice.
These are killer!!!!
Does anyone know if it’s possible to build these into fantasy Lizardmen?
There’s some spears and swords on the sprue for fantasy options. Have a nose at the images from Wargames Atlantic’s website, and you can see the full sprue layout.
