The creators of Freebooter's Fate are turning their attention from Fantasy pirate adventures to the stars and a new Sci-Fi game coming to Gamefound soon. See what you make of some of the initial previews for Ascending Fate.

Ascending Gate Gamefound Campaign - Freebooter Miniatures

Ascending Gate Gamefound Campaign // Freebooter Miniatures

Ascending Fate is a new diceless Sci-Fi skirmish game which uses a system that will be similar to those who are playing Freebooter's Fate. Your gameplay is card-based so you don't have to suffer the fickle fate of rolling chance cubes!

Ascending Fate Gameplay #1 - Freebooter Miniatures

Ascending Fate Gameplay // Freebooter Miniatures

As with everything from Freebooter Miniatures, it features an already immense cast of quirky characters that have a distinctly "Freebooter" vibe to them. There's a fun edge of Guardians Of The Galaxy, Firefly and Borderlands to the characters we've seen so far and it's so good to see how many different options you are going to have to choose from as the game grows.

Freebooter has also said that the game will feature an easy introduction to the rules as part of a campaign that you'll get when you crack open the core set for the game. Additionally, the folks at Freebooter Miniatures has started making videos on the gameplay of Ascending Fate over on YouTube so you can get an idea of how it plays.

Ascending Fate // Basics & Game Set-Up (EN Subtitle)

The game sounds like a lot of fun and Freebooter Miniatures has already been previewing the Starter Box Basic Pledge that you'll be able to get your hands on when the Gamefound campaign launches at the start of August.

Starter Box Pledge - Ascending Fate

Starter Box Pledge // Ascending Fate

The Starter Box comes with miniatures for Natalie Wu and her adventurers alongside Gordon Freep and his wreckers. You also get the rules, statistics cards, game tiles, tokens, dice and more. Everything that you need to play Ascending Fate in one box.

Whilst the game has a starting point of two players, you are going to be able to add more players into the mix and take it up to four if you so desire. I would hope that that means we're going to be seeing at least two more crews popping up as part of Ascending Fate's campaign.

Will you be taking a closer look at Ascending Fate?
