Wargames Atlantic are closing in on the Gamefound campaign for their new The Damned miniatures. This 28mm range is going to be coming on 26th May and will focus on a series of new plastic sets that allow you to make a corrupted and twisted army of Sci-Fi soldiers.

The Damned // Cult Of Paint

Cult Of Paint has been working on some of the initial raft of previews for The Damned and they sure look good. The standard infantry for The Damned gets to tinker with a whole host of different bitz to them allowing you to make some neat, customised armies. The mix of masks and such in the set is great as it means you don't have to paint too many faces!

Some more of the bitz for the Infantry and more have been previewed over the last week or so. This is by no means the entirety of the stuff you'll get on the sprues but it gives you a good indication of what is going to be available.

A good range of rifles, pistols, heavy weapons, special weapons and loads of heads (as always). The modular nature of the kits when it comes to plugging in arms and such means that you'll get a lot of poses out of this set too. All the bases should be covered for games like Warhammer 40,000 and One Page Rules to name but two.

You'll also have noted that there was a painted Brute in that Cult Of Paint preview. This set comes with an equally impressive spread of weapons allowing you to make them as ranged or melee combatants. Bash apart the front lines or shred your enemies with withering amounts of firepower.

You've also got some great kits coming out for both the Heavy Weapons teams and the Outriders. The Heavy Weapons teams do what it says on the tin. You get a bunch of guards to stick on the front of your weapons and then you simply take whatever you need for blasting things to pieces.

The Outriders are also looking particularly awesome. You've got those gas-masked horse heads that evoke vibes of Krieg from Warhammer 40,000. The riders then come with explosive-tipped lances allowing you to blow up your foes under the weight of a thunderous charge.

More previews are going to be coming up for The Damned over the next week or so, so make sure to watch this space. When it comes to gaming, I would reckon that a lot of folks are just going to play these as Astra Militarum in their games of Warhammer 40,000 and retheme elements like Stratagems and such to work with the vibe of Chaos.

I also like the idea of seeing these miniatures pop up in games like Stargrave. I could see some of the Infantry and Brutes being solid choices for nefarious foes that your crew run into when on a mission.
