The Year In Review for Games Workshop
January 26, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Games Workshop is taking pre-orders for their Citadel Annual 2014. The book will be a softcover and in full colour, in which they will showcase all of their new releases for the past year.
The book will be in chronological order of releases, so it will be interesting to see how the releases progressed throughout the year. I for one have not been a big Games Workshop player, but I do think they make some very beautiful miniatures and the painting is really nice too.
I do have to admit that I picked up The Hobbit: Strategy Battles Game prior to Christmas and I am looking forward to getting deeper into it.
Will this book have a place of honor in your bookcase?

Interesting… I guess it shows how much stuff has come out that the picture of the tyranid beasty (an exocrine?) looks like something that’s been out a lot longer than a year.
I’d like to have a look at this to see if there was anything cool I missed, because I find their new website very difficult to actually see what’s available.
A catalogue of things they intend to release THIS year would be more interesting
Elf with foot on rock
Human with foot on rock
Lizardman with foot on ….
Oh.
Just look, ignore the oppression of rock kind and think, wow its not a skull
Rock with Elf on head
… sometimes they ask for foot on ruins 😛
… I like it when they ask for that 😉 ha ha
You got something against rocks fella, ha ha.
On the contrary.
I am for the rocks. They have feelings too.
There they lie, minding there own business for hundreds, maybe thousands of years and some character or other comes along and plonks down a foot right on top for no reason.
It’s not like they have even trod in something nasty and are trying to get it off their boot so they don’t tread it all in the nice clean rushes when they go home for tea!
It’s malicious acts of pure unthinking pointlessness like that that gives the hobby a bad name! /rant!
*their not there. herp derp
I’m not to keen on the rocks, when in battle I find it very strange that someone would carry a rock around to stand on.. Maybe they are different rocks but what do I know
Or…
Rock with foot on elf
Human with rock on head
Lizardman with foot i….
🙂
Rock golem with foot in shrubbery .. dont say they dont try to innovate the concept
In the interests of avoiding negativity I will say one for the truly dedicated GW fans. My next £30 is going on a starter warband for Saga, just to put some perspective on things.
… gotta get back some of that lost warhammer visions money somehow, right ? 😉
This is really rather pointless release. It’s basically just expensive picture book with picture of models that we have already seen several times.
Sorry ‘chibi’ I ment to give a thumbs up but caught the wrong icon, it should be on +5 rocks!
My honour has been slighted, I demand satisfaction sirrah!
Custard pies at dawn!
Dawn, you might not want to wear your best clobber! lol
I’m sure I read they would be releasing a new basing kit this year.
“Tub o rocks” – £30
I’m in the middle of removing all the non-gw rocks off my bases to make them tournament legal.
We think you might like; Tub o rocks and Tub o feet, special bundle price 60 £
I am boycotting the Tub o’rocks on ethical grounds.
They are made by enslaved snotlings in an oriental sweatshop.
GW have rented a room at the back of a Chinese laundry in Nottingham where the poor snotlings chop up bits of sprue then file them to shape.
I think there is a petition on line #freethesnotlings
oh so thats why all the feet in Tub o’feet are green … man
soon they will be sculpting the foot on rock pose, rockless …
just to make sure they can force the extra purchase with a “great value hobby bundle ” 😉
Make sure to use round rocks and not square ones.
… have you not heard yet … they’ve increased the size of the round rocks to to 32mm,
to fight sales of third party rocks 😛
I am undecided
Should I buy the GW rock or wait for the limited edition quartz rock which I reckon will be about £15? and will the stats be in WD or will it have its own codex?
Does anyone know if FW will be doing a 30K resin rock with extra pointy bits, as I am sure it would probably be cheaper and better sculpted than the GW limited edition one
