Good vid Darrell its a confusing concept to explain but you did it pretty well – not an easy task. It doesn’t make your units invincible of course since if you take a certain number of wounds allocation shenanigans won’t save you but they do make you far more resilient. Its also kinda cool having each guy more individually armed.
That was really useful, thanks.
job done…enjoy your cheese roll ;0)
so the jist of it is:
Everyone man gets a wound. and then everyone gets two etc etc untill no more wounds are left.
anyone with different equipment has to roll seperatly.
Sounds good to me
I hope you enjoyed your lunch 😀 Covert burps all the time hehehe 😀
Nice tutorial though. I got my little bro getting into 40k and that made things clear to him.
Ta!
This is something Black Templar players should be well versed in (there’s an FAQ on it over on the bolter and chainsword BT sub-forum) since we can take troops with 6 different groups for wound allocation. (Marine with bolter, Marine with BP+CCW, Marine with special weapon, Marine with Heavy/Power weapon, Scout with shotgun and Scout with BP+CCW)
ok so i understand wound allocation but this isnt sitting right, in a tactical squad u can allocate wound to 3 diiferent types of guys!?? sorry but what?! how me annd my mate and anyone ive played, when a unit is attacked with lets say power weapons and say 2 wounds then any 2 of that tactical dies and not saying that both wound can go on a guy with a flamer,he’s the same guy like the other, yes different weapon but how does that make him different? and also only 1 wound so he could only take 1 of… Read more »
In the 40k rulebook it says that you roll saves separate for models that have different wargear, so that means you roll the guy with the flamer separate from the guys with bolters. You are correct about there being two wounds, you must put 1 wound on each model before putting 2 on any one. So 3 guys with bolters, 1 with flamer, and the sergeant, you have to put 1 wound on each of them before putting two on the sergeant/flamer guy. Wound allocation only works with large amounts of wounds, because you have to have 1 wound per… Read more »
Thanks for this video, this is vary good to know. Although as a guard player, it doesn’t effect me much. Also something you can do as a guard player, if you have a veteran squad with three plasma guns, it is sometimes better (when shooting at marines) to only fire the plasma guns, and not fire the lasguns. While you get less shots, what can happen is like with the genestealers and the rending wounds in the video. Say you shoot a five man squad (with 3 standard guys, sergeant and special weapon) you cause two plasma gun wounds, and… Read more »
ok i really need to read the rule book (again&again). so ok u can but wounds onto units with special weapons but heres what i’m not understanding: you shoot ur plasma (rapid fire) at a unit and you get 2 wounds, how can you give the guy that had 1 wound both plasma hits if he carries a specail weapon. shouldnt it be he gets 1 wound cause he only has 1 wound then the other wound onto another guy?
If you hit a 5-man tactical squad with just a plasma gun and cause two wounds, in that case two models would have to be removed – wound allocation says that each model in the unit must be allocated a wound before any can be allocated a second wound, so wargear on the models isn’t relevant yet.
In some cases it really is beneficial to resist the urge to fire everything, especially if it increases your chances of killing the enemy.
Thanks for explaining that better and more clearly then I did. 🙂
Good vid, not enough people know about that system. I still think it’s cheese and not correct fluff wise, but hell since that’s how most people play in tournaments and whatnot, I say let’s go for it ! On a side note, that wound allocation system is the reason I usually don’t fire the shotguns in my vetsquads when 3 of the veretans are carrying meltas/plasmaguns, I don’t want the AP1/2 wounds to be stacked in case too many shotguns wound go through. That’s kinda sad really =/ “Hold fire guys, if we all shoot at them they might have… Read more »
all this talk of cheese is really GRATING on me 😉
It was really well explained Darrell
