Work on Your Archery in the World of Wreck Age
September 21, 2012 by dracs
In a post-apocalyptic world it is kill or be killed, so it helps if you're a long way off when your doing the killing. Check out this Plains Drifter archer which has been Hyacinth Games have previewed.
This miniature has a great post-apocalypse punk look to it, with his bow looking as cobbled together as his clothing. The punk styling works really well. He's kind of what you would get if you mixed Katniss Everdeen with Johnny Rotten. Now there's a terrifying thought.
What do you guys think of this? How do you think Wreck Age is coming along in general?

Nice figure but I would have liked to see him with some sor of high tech carbon compound bow with pulleys and a lot more bells and whistles. Just a personal preference.
I guess with it being post-apocalyptic they might not have the materials. As a guy who is very much into archery I do enjoy this figure.

The only thing I don’t like about the figure is that the shape of the bow which would suggest it was at full draw, while at the same time the drawing hand is pulling an arrow out of the quiver.
Looks a bit odd to me.
Still a post apocalyptic archer is something I’ve not seen before, strange as it makes a lot of sense.
@brennon So your a fellow archer as well
Not sure I agree about the shape of the bow but I would have thought he would be holding it closer in readiness to nock his (next?) arrow.
That makes three of us, though I haven’t given my recurve an outing for a few months.

The longest I can go without getting one of my bows out is a couple of days before I start to drive the wife mad, so to protect her sanity I shoot about 3-4 days a week
Archery, Wargaming, and couple of beers pretty much sums up my perfect life. 🙂
.
Basically we’d be fine in Medieval Britain lol.

@spaced2020 Its because the ends of the limbs are curved back as they would be at full draw.
If this was the shape of the bow before you draw it the bow would hardly have any power besides the string would probably come off when you tried to shoot it.
You’re right about the bow arm it’s not how I shoot.
The photos does not do it any favours
