Wild West Exodus’ Kickstarter Goes From Strength To Strength
February 18, 2013 by brennon
The Wild West Exodus Kickstarter is one that has us rather excited and we're looking forward to how it all looks in the end. However, there is still just under a month left of the fundraiser so let's check out some of the amazing artwork and renders for future models...
First up we have a look at some renders for the heavy weapons and alternative boss poses. I have to say that the Warrior Nation might just have to be my army of choice simply because of this strange yet effective mix of the futuristic and the native. And they have Werewolves...
Next are some looks at the big transport choices in the game so far. These are some fairly monstrous pieces and I can imagine it taking quite a while to get this kit together, let alone paint it. The bases alone for these are huge!
And last but certainly not least is this look at some big personalities that can make a name for themselves in your warband. I think now you can see why I like the Warrior Nation.
I really am a big werewolf/were-anything fan and seeing the way these concept art pieces look I might have to pick him up even if it's just to paint up.
Justin is certainly liking the way this Kickstarter is going...
"It’s one of those days here at BoW HQ that makes me glad to work here! The guys over at Wild West Exodus have sent in a copy of the first of their comic books and one of their Animated Brutes!
I’ve taken a little time to read the comic and look at the mini and I’m liking what I see. The comic is giving us our first real look at this world and from the way things are going it looks to be the beginnings of a titanic war with shadowy dealings between the religions of the world, while the Union chase across America toward their prey. The Natives of the land are also active, following the commands of their great spirit.
Will you save the world or watch it burn?"
Have you pledged to this particular fundraiser?

not normally a western fan but this has piqued my interest a little. one to watch methinks
I have pledged at the level where you get 2 forces, still tempted to up the pledge
Great minis!! and 35mm which seems a nice idea imo. I am holding off of the kickstarter as I think this is gonna make me a poor poor man. OFC I will donate something before the end, I just want all the expensive stuff to be sold before I click, hehe. 😛
Opting out of this one, like I opted out of Rivet-Wars… There’s just too much cool stuff that I’d want to collect everything, and pledge alot…. and my wallet would keep me up at night crying of starvation. I know that this will be released, so I’ll wait until then.
But have you not heard that you have 2 kidneys and can live with just one? = Happy days 😀
cant wait to get my hands on the Abe Lincoln model he looks like a total boss 🙂
BoW Justin
I can’t help but think that if these models truly look as good as these pictures and are produced in plastic, they could be a major player in the hobby. Can’t wait to see them in the flesh!
This looks SO good…
I pledged just to get the mad steampunk scientists and their animated henchmen retinue, but all of those figures look gorgeous !
Its between this and the Empire of the Dead kickstarter. While I’m saving some money on Gates of Antares coming down 🙁 my wallet can still only afford one. Not to mention that Mutant Chronicles look intresting.
I pledged but have since reduced my pledge to $1 because at the moment I’m only interested in skirmish games and by the looks of this they can’t really keep it at skirmish level.
I’ll save my money for the upcoming Arena Rex kickstarted.
@maddgame: I think it will be as skirmishable as Warmahordes, meaning that like Outlaw stated them self, you could play with half a dozen figures (less henchmen and more under bosses) with no problems regarding fun or playability.
Have backed this, cant wait for them to ship it already, looking forward to getting some games of this in at TTN, gives you guys lots of time to get some nice 35mm scale wild west boards built, i think this will be very popular, im also liking the trend towards larger scales models at the moment giving more opportunity for detail.
For WWX terrain, perhaps lollypop sticks would make nice custom made cabins? Wilko’s sell them in bags or you can buy lots of ice creams and get one free in each pack, 🙂
http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/kids-crafts/wilko-wooden-sticks-pack-of-50/invt/0316896?VBMST=lollypop%20stick 85p for 50!! these must grow on trees for this price!!! (contains NO ice cream though).
Am putting up $220 towards this one it is the only kickstarter that has gotten my interest. At the rate that is is getting backed it should do well. Will be playing the Enlightened and the Outlaws to start. I really want Effile and his spider.
OMG!!! twin linked assault cannon on a horse!!! Me need one of dem!!
Just remembered how much I hate metal miniatures, so I cancelled my pledge for Empire of the Dead, so now I’ll have another $100 or so to throw at this KS. Love the kind of plastic models that you can glue with plastic glue! 😀
For terrain I highly recommend the world works games deadfall stuff, ok its papercraft, but still looks pretty darn, um, err, pretty
Pledged as soon as I saw it just due to the overall theme and quality of the mini’s, but also loving the idea of the comic tie-in… Extra fluff plus they’re using it to add new scenarios etc 🙂
AHHHHHHH!!! They have included another Repulsive level pledge! This is gonna hurt me as I was waiting for them to sell out in order to protect my bank balance. May need to seek therapy now or find a lonely old rich lady that is about to pop her clogs. 😛
Judging by previous games, I thought this would get a higher response tbh, especially due to the quality and amount of content. Gamers skint? or maybe just lurking in a cupboard waiting to pounce out with their Blankedy Blank cheque book and pen? 😛
Only decision for me is more models or convert my brick shed into a summer house ready for some extreme outdoor model making/painting this summer? Hmmm
They’ve still got a while to go :). Given that a lot of ks only run for 30 days, they’ve got a nice head start with 29 days to go… Having said that I do think a few of the usual ks crowd are probably tapped out with all the great ks happening recently (and currently) 🙂
Agreed matey. I bet most of the guys that have tapped out are on here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/231972546936646/ 😛
My DnD group is switching to Deadlands and I am thinking of trying my hand as the DM.
How Boss am I going to look when I break out a giant steampunk spider and a Indian with a gatlin gun?
P.S did these guys exactly copy there idea from Deadlands?
Your gonna look more than Boss! They are gonna all want your babies, hehe. 🙂
I don’t even own a Tabletop Wargame yet and this game looks totally badass!!!
Looks like a good place to start to me !
What type of gaming are you wanting to get into matey? You certainly get a HUGE amount for your money with WWX, but there is no harm starting with something else while you wait for the glorious day to come (September). 😀
Hope you have fun with your new pastime. It will certainly bring out emotions you never thought you had. JOY with your first proper victory, EXCITEMENT when you have painted your first badass looking army, SADNESS when you drop a awesome model by accident and an arm falls off, DRAINED when you play the “OTT rules geek” that pulls you up for moving a mm to far, FEAR the first time you mislay you model case, ANGER when a kebab monster wwith 5 layers of kebab grease touches your models instead of your sister, KINDNESS when you donate a kidney to save someones life (and the cash for a GW character model), SHAME when you try and spend your kidney money but don’t have enough, PATIENCE when you try and teach me a new rule set, CAUTION the first time you lend your prized models out, PITY for the friend who lost your borrowed models as you pound his face into moving traffic, AMUSEMENT as you clean the blood off of your hands, VIOLATED the first time you get inducted into your first RPG game, ENVY when you see a small child with better painted models than you, RELAXATION when you find that the models belong to his dad (Mr Angel Giraldez), HOPE when his dad tells you that you could paint like him if you believe in yourself and practice, ECSTASY when you read your first Horus Heresy novel, RAGE when you realise how much you have invested after reading book no 32714634532765 of the Horus Heresy series, Failure on your deathbed when you do not meet the standards set by Lord Angel Giraldez (CEO of all things awesome) 50 years earlier, LONELINESS when they top you up with 6ft of top soil without your models!!
So on that bright ending, I hope you enjoy your hobby GREG and you get a lot out of it. 😀 hehe.
If there is anything that you need, I am sure this community can assist you.
Mick
Been looking at this on facebook and kickstarter looks amazing i love the cowboy theme to the world with the sifi twist thinking i may put down on this one.
These would be great for Deadlands.
$135,000 stretch goal reached guys 😀 om nom nom more juicy WWX goodness on its way 🙂
$145,000 Reached!! and a new pledge level $999 is gonna get me arrested for armed robbery in a post office!!!!
next up: $155,000 Battlefoam bag. I think that is pretty expensive for a bag, but thats with 20% off!!! hehehe The opportunity there was to good to miss 😀
Almost to $155,000 but Battlefoam Bags have been added and also 2 more minis to pledges Shameless ($325) and above. Corrupt has the Big and small Battlefoam bag 😀
How much can you get for selling a kidney these days? And livers regenerate dont they? Hmmmmmm /ponders 🙂
Hell of a bargain on the Corrupted pledge level guys! apparently there is a few surprises in store for that level to. Glad I have just jumped on that band wagon!
Now @chibi, where is the hug? 😛 hehe
Calling all cowboys and indians,
A lot of new development is happening tonight with the reveal of “The Union Rail Project” We have been informed that it is something HUGE for the game and it has the pledging community really hyper over it’s details.
There has been some great NEW art and models that have been released since this thread has been made, and quite a few additional stretch goals met. At this stage (17 days to go), Repulsive level pledges (£435) receive over 3x the value in models, with more being released and added all the time!!!
They also have there own forum up and running, allowing people to put there ideas forward. A living database of all those gamers that want to submit their details in order to find games has been added to the site. New pledge levels have been created in order to satisfy the community, so this is a company the LISTENS to it’s community. So lets make this work and breed more happiness back into some of our hobbies. As they say, “Put up or shut up” its time to support the people that CAN support you.
This is a new genre of game, unless you have your own 35mm “CowPunk” house rules. 🙂 Charlie rules are up now and have been written by the big man Alessio himself!!! Beta rules will be out shortly after the KS end and Alpha rules on despatch of the game in September 2013. Oh and Battlefoam bags have been included in some of the pledges, as Romeo and Tom are helping support this project!!! Micro Arts is making a lot of terrain and basses for it to, which are also part of the project!!! So there is a lot of love and support going on here and it is all aimed at you!!!
So lets saddle up and whip it like a good ‘un and show these Americans how the British Empire………………… well, I mean, these little islands that make the UK now……… get on our horses and round up the beef……… Well, I mean, put your wellies on, get your dog, a stick and whistle and round up those sheep………. Good god, reading that back, I started off so well. 🙁

Message from the wild west: as from KickStarter
Outlaw Miniatures, LLC 11 minutes ago
Good morning everyone. Seems we have been busy chatting it up. Let me help with answering a few questions and putting some problems to bed. Please spread the word on this stuff so others know the answers just in case they don’t see this post later.
1. The Union Rail project will not be added for free to any pledge levels. It will also not be added at a discounted rate because its KS price will already be discounted at 40% off of msrp. Its also massive and a huge financial responsibility on us to create. We did it because its really cool but may not be for everyone. Add-on price will be announced with the information of it later today.
2. Don’t spend to much time comparing the pledge levels at this point. It will drive you crazy doing that. Corrupt is not done getting free add-ons while other levels could be. Comparing 2 repulsive levels today vs 1 corrupt is just spinning your wheels. We still have 17 days to go. So much more can and will be happening between now and then. Moving around in your pledge levels will only slow down the unlocking of goals and cause others to wait because of the confusion in the comments.
3. Anyone asking about the bags please read and pass on. Any pledge level that has a free bag added to the level DOES NOT have to add additional shipping. The shipping charge is listed in the add-on section only because those would be add-on items. The only time you need to add extra charges for the bags is if you don’t have them as part of your pledge level and you simply add them to your pledge. You would also have shipping charges for them if you decided to get a second or third bag. Each bag would be additional shipping because they would ship in different boxes.
@der_nar – Sorry about that, we sometimes forget about our friends around the world. We just assume that everyone speaks and understands our language like we do.
@beagle – yes, that will be coming today with the 2 new pledge levels.
@michael H – See about on the shipping question.
@timo – no on the lower price. Please see above about your question.
@simon C – What you see on the shopping cart part of the official WWX website includes shipping. Each comic has to be shipped out individually and that has a charge. The $32 is the cover price of each comic plus the shipping charge. On kickstarter we are discounting this so Rotten gets you the subscription at a reduced price plus all the other goodies. The shipping is covered with the pledge level already having shipping included. The additional fees for the comics are being covered by us.
Hope that helps fellas and now back to work. Updates coming down the pipes.
Thanks. 🙂
Only 9 days left where are the English outlaws hiding? We still need more backers. Give it a check you might love it!
LOL, I really can’t fault this one!! I want a real one is all can say. /giggles like a girl

Well I was wrong before thinking that the Warrior Nation would have a huge lizard as a fire bringer.
My only thought is, how are they towed into battle? That gatling gun looks like it will ruin someones day for sure, hehe.
I also guess this is how we can keep the enemies heads down as we are running at them with axes. 😀
