Sorry this was late guys!
Thats ok, another good video guys. Looking forward to the British Army book and I like the look of the plastic T34/85. Crap now I’m going to have to get some Rusians !!!
Very cool. Loving the info of kings of war.
It’s gonna have to wait till after Ripper street now. still good things and all that.
lol watching that too!
Somehow I thought you might be
Really want to start watching that myself. Coincidently Warren I think I still have that really bad Jack the Ripper documentary you lent me.
Now I would have put money on you watching it.
I’ve never understood the appeal of a full demon army in the first place, so I can’t really comment on the new models.
I did just buy the book for MERCS, so I’m looking forward to next week!
I also decided to pledge for Wild West Exodus, so I’ll be looking out for any information you guys might have on that.
Malifaux is awsome. Its very Dynamic and interactive
looking forward to the human/angel army, will go well with all the freebies from the Kings of War kickstarter, only problem is everytime they activate I will have to shout ‘Bazil!’
You were more polite about the new Daemons than I would have been. Been playing them since ’88 but this release has just ended all of that.
Great extension to a great weekender. I actually liked the fact it was up on Sunday morning, meant I got a dose of BOW goodness both weekend mornings
The volume of product vs cost thing can swing both ways I think. Taking it away from gaming, look at movies It costs you £8 to see a 3 hour film, and it costs you £8 to see an hour and a half long film, but if its 3 hours of padded out plodding nothing or an hour and a half of the best action thriller you’ve ever seen, you feel ripped off after the three hour movie. In video games we’ll shell out £50 once a year for the next installment of COD or MOH/BF3, on one disc and… Read more »
While all that is certainly true, I think some people complaining about the price of the models may also be complaining about the scale of the system, so needed 5 models in say infinity to the 500 you would need for whfb, even if the individual models for infinity are more expensive
Which is similar to your movie analogy, the bigger one isn’t necessarily better either
Nice show guys. I’ve never gone with the ‘amount of material’ way to judge value of models, the actual cost of the stuff in the model itself, even metal ones, is pennies, the value is in the sculpting , and of course, its use in the game if applicable. I’ve not been a fan of any of the last few GW releases to be honest , the deathwing knight box excepted, and I think from the 40k chaos book and the dragony thing, I’ve been thinking more and more that the design team have lost their way a bit. As… Read more »
To be as honest as I can, I do not think GWs “high standards” helped the small competitors be that good, first of all because they were better than GWs standards for more than 5 years and second and most importantly that they do not produce lines compatible with GW, they produce their own IP, this means they compete among themselves, so they themselves drive them in higher and higher standards. If nothing else one of their golden opportunities in the last 5 years, the Imperial Guard vehicles redone resulted in the same, decades old, models with fewer parts, when… Read more »
Excellent show, actually I thought better than the main one. I like these weekenders best when they get casual and fun. They’re still informative, but with the added bonus of fart jokes 🙂
That was as @tims says better than the main show. Some interesting points about the price of games and what constitutes value. Personally I don’t mind shelling out when I get years of fun out of something. Some of the rule sets I’ve got are half the size of a 40K codex for the same price but they’re great games. Malifaux I’ve not played so I would love to see that and Bolt Action heard a lot of good things about that. Oh and the whole growing up thing don’t worry about it I haven’t yet and i can’t see… Read more »
Hi everyone I Just watched my first backstage show. Really enjoyed this show and I’ll have to agree with Tims above that I too enjoy the casual style atmosphere.
I have some Bolt Action infantry on order and I’m now reading over the Rulebook.
Thanks guys – good to see more content for us 🙂 Cost is always relative – I consider even the most expensive minis to be good value at times because of the amount of hobby time you can squeeze out of them. If you spend 20 hours painting a £30 kit that’s £1.50 for an hours worth of modelling for example, nevermind the amount of hours you’ll get to play with it. I just think that it’s the overall amount of minis you “need” to have a game that can cost a lot which may be why Skirmish games are… Read more »
Love the fact that no ones commented on the point where I almost fell off my stool….
