New Wave of Releases for Dystopian Wars
August 15, 2011 by dracs
Spartan Games have put up a veritable tsunami of new releases for Dystopian Wars, especially the Covenant of Antartica.
However, it is not just the Covenant which is getting new goodies. Take a look at this Landship for the Federated States of America.
So what do you guys think of these? Is there any one in particular which grabs your eye?
All feeling very War of the Worlds – the Covenant ones more so. I quite like the walker actually.
The acrylic base might mean it’s a flyer … anyone know for sure?
Its not a flyer I think…, its put on an acrylic base so you can insert a plastic rod up its bum. The legs most likely have to be glued on you see, and you don’t want to be glueing legs everytime you play a game with it :).
Can’t see why it couldn’t be a flyer. Some CoA models have antigrav rules assocatied with them. However, land based models come with bases but not flight stands.
Either way its an awesome model lol
think these will be my 2nd fav range after the F.S.A
That’s it ! I’m getting a Time Dilation Orb !
BoW Romain
Don’t get it mixed up with a Woody Allen Pleasure Orb! lol
Your one sick puppy @chibi 😛
Dystopian Wars continues to churn out the great minis! I’d assume that the Time Callimachus is a flyer/walker on par with the big robots we’ve seen for Prussia and the F.S.A.
FINALLY I get my amphibious version of the Washington! I was pretty bent when I learned it wasn’t gonna be in the armoured starter (especially as SG had said that it originally would be!), but better late then never!
Now, all Dystopian Wars needs is a rulebook that is readable/logical and edited, and we’re good to go!
i was just about to buy into dystopian wars. is there something wrong with the rulebook? :/
The rulebook is poorly organized, poorly laid out, unedited, and generally redundant/confusing. They have 3 pages talking about LOS in 45, 90, 180, etc. degrees! Strange. As well, sections such as setup, game turns, order of play, etc. are very hit and miss with the actual subject given as the header. There are essentially no rules given for deployment (with a few ideas scattered throughout the optional rules section)… I just found it a mess, and everyone I’ve talked to has as well. That being said, the game is great, fun, fast-paced, easy to learn (from someone else!), and brimming… Read more »
I can’t wait till these are released
ah very nice models full of detail I buy them just for the heck of it
Those all look great!
Just to clarify: acrylic bases does not mean flying model, all the DW land models (except the tiny tanks) come with acrylic bases to mount them on 🙂
