Warlord Release Grim Judges, Rogues & Fat Blokes
January 6, 2014 by brennon
Warlord Games have got some new additions to the Judge Dredd Miniatures Game up on their website including Judges of the World, a new Fattie and the Rogue Trooper himself.
I'm going to have to say it flat out, I don't like these miniatures. I know that they might have a bit of old school charm to folks but they just don't look at all right to me.
The only model from this selection that I quite like is the Rogue Trooper and his two soldier companions are not bad either. The Judges of the World, while fun, just don't do it for me.
This has certainly been something that is apparent with friends of mine who are playing the game, which is brilliant I might add. They have mostly gone for alternatives from a variety of different companies.
Maybe you can see the charm in these?

I had to look closely as I was not sure what that ‘thing’ below the fattie’s belly was supposed to be….
It’s a belly wheel. Like in the comics.
Is this an indication that Rogue Trooper KS stuff might finally start arriving? Haven’t heard a peep from them in a while…
I’ve read 2000AD since a very young age and whilst I love Dredd and like these minis, there is something about them that hasn’t led me to part with my cash for any yet. I would have liked to have seen Dredd and it’s universe done in a more darker style or at least sculpted at the level that KNIGHT MODELS are at.
Your not the only one that thinks it could have been a better line of models. Not one model I liked so far as it has a very out dated feel and style. I could get old GW Dredd models and they be on par with this. Sad very sad 🙁
As a bit of help if you’re creating a Judge gang my friend is buying Space Marine Scouts and then using Imperial Guard heads with visors instead of the marine ones. They look surprisingly epic.
I also broached the idea of using a half Heavy Bolter/Half Auto-cannon as a gatling gun for a heavy weapon user.
In the mean time he is using the old metal scouts as they do look suitably ‘retro’, especially the dude with the visor. But yes, this game sorely needed better models…ah well.
