They've had very few good things to say about Psychic Powers so far... but I predicts that Divination might be the one to change all that!

Divination is undoubtedly the best of the new powers, and makes Grey Knight shooting pretty brutal again. Every GK list I use now has at least 1 psychic Inquisitor if not 2 (which also opens the door on a couple of cheap special weapon acolyte squads as well). GKs can take divination for as little as 55points(basic inquisitor + psychic upgrade). However they have two other great choices: 1)Ordo malleus inquisitor in termie armour + psycannon + psyker upgrade. Clocks in at a little over 100points and gives you a str 6 TH, a relentless psycannon and I take prescience… Read more »
Divination is the only discipline I’d consider swapping out the powers from the space marine codex for, which is a shame really, especially for Tigurius to go from knowing everything in the codex to 3 rolls and you can’t have the one that would be most useful? I’ll stick to the codex thanks.
As someone who runs Tigurius semi-regularly I couldn’t agree more
I’ve always thought Biomancy was the best discipline, but I guess as a Tyranid player I’m biased.
@darkprinceraven i also thougt that biomancy was the way to go…but given the list i’m working on…divination may be the golden ticket…as long as i can re-roll to hit with an orbital bombardment.
I agree with Andy about messy fluff for the psychic powers e.g. divination guard and codex marines don’t get it… tigurius is a renowned diviner? the astropathicus have the imperial tarot? oh and chaos don’t get it with their daemonic prophecies? messy indeed Is divination the best? depends on the army id agree with @darkprinceraven that Tyranids do better with biomancy and telepathy has some nice powers across the board… but then divination really doesn’t have a bad power i wont bother trying to criticize its just tasty. @deathangel yes you can re roll orbital bombardment but your really going… Read more »
Or here is another butchering of the fluff: since Chaos Marines can’t take Divination, that means Ahriman cant use it. If you’ve ever read A Thousand Sons then you’ll know that divination is Ahriman’s SPECIALTY. That and the 5 disciplines are the 5 cults of the Thousand Sons verbatim
Just a point on what was admittedly just a throw away comment anyway on Forewarning on “if you’d ally with Orks…” you can’t use this power on them. Why? Unless you’re Battle Brothers you count as an enemy unt and this can only be used on a friendly one and Orks are Battle Brothers with no one. I’m an Ork player so I wish it wasn’t so but, yes, we can’t benefit from any of the new psychic powers as far as I know because of this “friendly” issue.
I’ve only used Divination so far as there seemed to be no down side and now by Darrells definition that makes me one of those with at least half a brain. High praise indeed 🙂
I had great fun using Misfortune a couple of weeks ago and it was just so painful for my opponent but it did throw up a question. Malediction according to the rule book lasts until the end of the following turn unless otherwise stated. We presumed end of next player turn or do they mean game turn?
Turn always means player turn unless it specifies game turn,
thanks
i play normally 2 a side games with mates. at the start, back in 5th, we had the discussion about whether psychic powers could be used on your mates army. I use eldar and mate used space wolves. it was decided that giving space wolves the benefits of eldar powers was just nuts and would be broken! just look what’s happened… the 3 top marine books now have eldar psychic powers! I wish I could persuade my mates that warmachine is just, well, better!!!
Divination has put a librarian back in my deathwing!
C:DA psychic powers SUCK so it was a waste of time playing one but now prescience makes a great force multiplier for an elite army, why can’t it be army wide!
However that is still inconsistent with DA fluff as a monastic order should be running chaplins and now librarians are better at their main talent of giving re-rolls.
