WarGamer Girl Builds Her Kickstarter From the Clockwork Base Up
September 11, 2013 by dracs
The famous WarGamer Girl is expanding her Kickstarter with some new miniatures soon to appear on it, starting with a new range of Clockwork bases.
These bases are more decorative than terrain based, being more intended for stylishly displaying the models than making them look like they're standing on the field of battle. While they would suit many steampunk models perfectly I think that they would best suit the Miners and Steamfitters Guild of Malifaux, matching the game's outlandish contraptions and showcasing the models without distracting from them.
The bases should prove to be the first of a bunch of new pieces for the WarGamer Girl's Clockwork Kickstarter and, given the pieces we have already seen, I am interested to know just what we can expect.
If you haven't already be sure to head over to the Kickstarter and check it out.
Nice bases, be good for a tech priest.
This looks like they have been a little caught by surprise, as I would have hoped they might have somthing a little more inspiring or original up their sleeves.
Still it’s early in thier kick starter, and perhaps we all need to accept that stretch goals and bonuses are not ‘nessesary’ … Sometimes it’s good to just say, ‘hey I only want to commit to this for the moment!’
There’s plenty of room for small kickstarters that offer a handful of niche items. I don’t think they all need to involve enormous wallet-draining ranges with stretch goals every forty-seven pence.
I quite like the idea of a themey, rather than scenic base – clearly designed for those who like the CoC.
But if I were to get some CoC and mount them on here, base and model would be in more-or-less the same colour scheme. It’d take some good colour choices to get your CoC to stand proud of its base.
They look really beatifull, but I wouldn’t use them, because as mentioned, they aren’t exacly standing on a battlefield.
