Waaagh Banners and Weapon Skill | Daily Tips
December 8, 2010 by dignity
Darrell has a look at some Ork Nobz and chats about how to get them to be hard…. Wait that sounds wrong, what I mean is that he chats about how their Waaagh Banners get them plus one weapon skill in close combat.

I Knew…
Mega Nobs can’t take a Waagh Banner, but it is still quite fierce. I would say that it is not cumulative and that if you took several it would just be for the sake of redundancy.
You definitely do not stack the WAAAGH banners, it’s all in how it is written. The rule does not say “increase WS by +1”, it actually says, “A mob including a Waaagh! Banner has +1 WS”. Big difference, no stacking. So even if they take two, both says “has +1”, which means WS 5, not WS 6 which would be +2, not +1. It’s just one of those abilities if you have multiple, it has the same effect as opposed to cumulative, not sure what to call them. Like Garwjenk said, you take multiple to protect the ability from being… Read more »
Lol I answered this question for this same guy on another forum weeks ago. Unfortunately while I spent ages explaining the truth to him (banners DO NOT stack) Darrell has gone and undone all that so thanks lol 😀 If you read the entry in the ork codex it states that a unit with a WAAGH! banner has +1 WS, not that each banner gives +1. So whether they have 1 2 or 6 doesn’t matter since they all only give +1 as the unit then has a banner. Taking multiples is just for redundancy in case one is lost.
I know right? I think we should give Darrel a well-deserved Season’s Beatings with a wet fish for this one. I can forgive the Tomb Spyder video, but this has gone too far.
Also, I would like to petition to change the pronunciation of “WAAAGH!”. I’m tired of hearing people sound like a crying baby when they’re talking like an Ork. There’s a G in there, see? WAA>>G<<H! Can't miss it, so instead of WAAAH!, like you're 5 months old and just got disturbed from your nap, bellow a nice WAAAGH! With a G. Maybe that's just how I feel, anyone else with me?
In total agreement cursed 13….the G is definitely pronounced.
A true Waaagh! need its g-spots 😉
Sorry, phonic rules dictate that a G beside an H result in a silent G. Laugh, for example.
I agree with Bubbles15, the H makes the G silent. Not to mention in video games like the DoW franchise (which have content GW has to approve of), Orks scream “WAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!” and I’ve never heard them add the G sound at the end. I’m pretty sure if the G was supposed to be pronounced, it would be in the games that have Orks screaming WAAAAAAAAAGH!!!
Well most of my friends including me shout “Waaagh” a little bit like the word “war” Ok ok we are from Germany but it sounds pretty well when you shout it with full power. Better than a baby “whaaaa”
In my opinion the orkish Waaagh means war in human language so why not speak it like war? so get da boyz for the waaagh 😉
It’s orks we’re talking about not some weedy ‘umies. Your rules do not apply! 😉
This plus the Sanguinor, Darrell you are gold lol
Funny vid, looks pretty certain though to me from the wording that it doesn’t stack.
Same sort of idea: If a wolf guard has two frost weapons does it get +2 strength?
Unfortunately no you don’t get the bonus twice, having two frost weapons would only give you the +1A which you could get anyway by wielding a pistol with it.

An Eldar Avatar would still hit them on 3+ ^^
But you don’t use nobs to fight such units. You let the boys do that 🙂
Darrell you gooseberry: Lloyd likes his big nobz well hard! Classic!
Loved it, now we know what makes a nob hard can you answer my next question
A battlewagon with a deff rolla moves over a rhino (containing 10 marines) the rhino is destroyed by the deff rolla. If the battlewagon’s continues its movement (declared how far it was moving before it hit the rhino) and it ends up OVER the rhino’s old position. What happens to the unit of marines?
Thanks in advance
I think the unit of marines inside would be destroyed if the BW COMPLETELY covers the Rhino, as the occupants wouldn`t be able to disembark, emergency or otherwise. Now if the BW doesn`t cover the ENTIRE Rhino, they unit inside would just emergency disembark.
At the beginning I was surprised he didn’t crack up, but it didn’t take long! I wonder how many takes it took to do this video with a relatively straight face? BTW, my wife likes my bosspole because it makes my Nobz harder…yes, I have many Nobz.
Harder nobz, eh? Would you like them polished to?…ROFL XD
