excellent stuff. am eagerly waiting all these lovely new models.
Not my thing as an army , but the look good.
Mantic are getting better with each army to be honest, not just with Warpath, but from the start , you can see steady progression in quality from the first elves through to the corporation and these ones.
Great stuff.
I really love them and i definetly buy them 🙂
Have to say, these models look like they were made with love. Mantic surprised me!
Interesting review thanks for posting!
Have to say the video of the models at the end is the best view I have seen of them, and really shows them off well.
Break out der heathammers and Dragon Breaths brothers, FOR TONIGHT THEY YIFF IN HELL!
Look nice models, but space Skaven…really? In a world where you can come up with anything you like, why not try a unique race rarther than just basing them on Skaven? Right down to the gas masks!
Try and come up with a new race that aint been seen before! I know fantasy/sci fi is all based on plagiarism, but still…
I get your point because i said the same when i first saw them but the fact that they are ratmen doesn’t makes them Skaven at all. They are rather different first because there is no magic stuff involved, also they have drills as his main melee weapon and it seems they are not the “bad guys” because they where made by the corporation ( this is stated in their allies, they can be allied of anyone ). The gasmask is difficult to make them very different because rats are rats. The Chemthrowers are a copy true, but just in… Read more »
You try and be unique, Solaaris. Well, unique and marketable. For Mantic to survive they’ve gone standard fantasy fare, as almost all companies do. The Ratmen in Space has not been done. Games Workshop copied so much over the years, but because they had time and some excellent sculptors and writers on their side they developed a special product. Much of which is not unique to fantasy. Mantic is slowly doing the same. So, I suggest you give them more time. The first couple years results have been good for the most part.
Tired of the quite stupid moaning about Mantic not taking a risk and doing something unique. It’s quite obvious, and it’s just boring having to explain time and time again the logic of what Mantic are doing. In fact it’s usually GW fanboys (who like to deny they are fanboys) just striking out at Mantic.
Mantic’s priority is to SUSTAIN itself. Otherwise it will just be another failed company like the many that have gone before.
I think this is the army that will get me and my friends into the game. Looking forward to the other releases.
Have to say I thought the mystery 8th race idea was great but the shine came off a wee bit when they were revealed as space rats. But, and its a big but, seeing these first models and the army list, something has clicked and I seriously can’t wait to get my hands on these.
I actually like the mantic models the most impressive to date are the orc ones…
Now that I have seen these up close via BoW. I am starting to get that itch again to grab a box and start the madness once more 🙂
Those are some cool looking rats sort of feels like I’m looking at hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy
They aren’t too bad, not too bad at all. Some of the bare heads look a bit too simian for my liking though, and the bulbous chambers on the guns make them look more cartoonish than threatening.
the cat race from wing commander would have these guys(rats) for lunch
Why can’t they treath them well and just throw them cheese at them 😛
