Some horrific looking stuff there... horrific in a good way you understand.

Amazingly, the Dark Eldar range is not only (IMO) the best looking line GW currently makes, but one of the cheapest (on a model per model basis). Scourges, at $25 ($5 per model) are cheaper then either Grey Knight Interceptors ($33.00, over $6 each), Space Marine Assault Squad box ($29.75, almost $6 each) or Vanguard Vets ($41.25, over $8 each). Compare the new Talos/Chronos kit ($44.50) with the Ironclad Dreadnought ($44.50); while the price is the same, the DE kit seems to be quite a step above in terms of both sculpt and, of course, can be used to make… Read more »

I have been really reluctant to start any new GW army recently (prices are extortionate and their new releases IMO have been below par) but i always said to myself that if i was gonna start another army after i finish my Death Guard CSM’s it would be DE. That was until the ‘2nd wave’ release of models for this range came out and were hugely dissapointing (Staticly posed Succubus? poor Beast Master sculpt? average looking beasts?). crovax20 has the right idea, Some guy in marketing must have confused gold prices with that of plastic.
and I mean good gold, like the 99.9% pure gold stuff those Canadians make…

Looks good… but…. It didn’t overly impress me.. i guess I’m picky… The Venom looks nice but is WAY too small In my opinion. Even if its transport capacity is 5. Plus its lacking a good holding pen for the passengers. If my Incubi will be riding that thing, What are they going to hold onto when moving at super speeds? The Scourges though Look AMAZING. The pain engines… I dunno.. they look too fleshy for my liking.. I liked the older one, I was hoping for something similar but re done.. Its a beautiful model don’t get me wrong.… Read more »

Man, GW actually gave us the models we want, in the best possible way! I’ll be picking up a Venom! Some of the best GW releases I’ve seen in a long while!

The two engines are stunning models, I’ve been a bit underwhelmed with the Tomb Kings sculpts I’ve seen so far , and indeed a lot of the Grey Knights stuff, but these are on a different level.

They really can make some great stuff when they put their minds to it.

I don’t really like GW minis… I think they’re usually crude and unimpressive. The Grey Knights weren’t very good IMHO, as teh sculpting goes…
But these guys… First the tomb kings sphinx, then this…

So the battleforce will have 10 Kabalite Warriors 10 Wyches 3 Reaver Jetbikes 1 Raider? Why the hell did DE players have to wait till the second wave for a box full of stuff from the first wave?

I like the new scourges a lot though, like swooping hawks on LSD.

I really like them, the Scourges are beautiful & the Pain Engines rock.

@cazboab: DE players had to wait so GW could make more money by capitalising on the first wave release & innevitable initial hype, which is why I would always wait 6 months before starting to buy a new army & to see what the 2nd wave would bring…unless I was collecting Nids or Space Wolves of course 🙂

Great job GW but just two things before I could start my DE army: Where the hell are my Wracks & Grotesques?!

If they could breathe new life into their rules like they’ve done to the dark eldar mini range I would be proud to start playing 40k again. Some of the updates these models have received is nothing short of triumphant.

a themed army for Fabius Bile ? hmm… sounds nice…
but not only a themed army for Fabius Bile. if you use the right bits, you are able to make a dreadnought for any legion. maybe not legal for the tournaments, but to play with your buddys.

and yes, i thought about the pain engine for the conversion ^^
a question for understanding: what does “If not then im nicking the idea!” mean? especially “nicking”? im german, and quite a long time out of school, so excuse my bad english ;(
