Jokaero are an old school GW race, Rogue Trader old. Their last notable appearance was the Jokaero digiweapon in the Inquisitor rulebook, back in 2001. Nice to see them coming out of the darkness again, I really need to get myself a look at these henchmen options.
Wasn’t expecting to see a space monkey, but I like the figure. Might pick one up when it comes out just to paint it.
Sum one at G.W must be a “Captain Simian & the Space Monkeys” Fan! 😀

The Jokaero as a known 40k race are years older than that mid-90s show. They even had a model back in Rogue Trader days.

An ape figure is an interseting idea and somehow doesnt feel 40k even though it really is
Im pleased to see that GW have took the bold step to sculpt their first take on an alien race thats been around since early ‘Rogue Trader’ books. However…. IT IS UTTER UTTER GARBAGE AND ANOTHER TOTALLY MISSED OPPORTUNITY. This has got to be one of the worst GW sulpt i have ever seen im all my years of following this company. @ hysteric ….Nah that ones cool! Its wacky, crazy and fits in with the chaotic and fun world of Blood Bowl. The Jokaero model is just lazy. A sloppy attempt given very little thought whatsoever. By no means the worst sculpt ever by GW but considering the quality of their new releases it is utter garbage.
So anyone like Castellan Crowe? I think hes quite cool, although the fluff justifies his daemon sword its a bit iffy in my opinion. I think the Jokaero is just alright not particularly swayed or particularly hating it really.
The Jokaero is a great model, firstly because it’s look steps out of the same old “grim dark” 40k, and secondly because It draws on a lot of fun subtle things. I like the long spindly tubes on its hand, probably some technological interface device such as the Nanoprobe injectors that the Borg had in Star Trek. I also like the big black eyes, akin to that of alien Grey’s. Not sure what is going on with all the “cyborg” bits but thats good, we humans do not understand the Jokaero’s grasp of technology. Right lads no more terminator armour or anything like that its too expensive, in these hard times instead we have monkeys!
r&d has specified that these space monkeys are available for deployment with all the emperors marine legions…except the imperial fist chapter as the yellow armour confuses the monkeys sending them into a hunger fuelled rage. The loss of fingers seems to be counter productive…..

Why don’t they just make a verity of Mr Bean minis with bolt pistols and throw in some loony toons characters for good measure and call it a day.
(No offenses to Rowan Atkinson Black Adder was brilliant Mr Bean, not so much)
