Darrell looks around for his vehicles when he discovers that it's been wrecked! I know, happens to me all the time! Well with this sad situation in hand he goes on to discuss what happens to the wrecked vehicle and how it can prove to be a small blessing as well as a hindrance.

I don’t play 40k but can’t you just shoot it a few more times to blow it up?
Nope, once its a wreck it becomes terrain and essentially untouchable, so a vehicle getting taken out in the wrong place can really throw a spanner into your plans.

As soon as I saw the colour of the rhino I had a sneaking suspicion it might get a mention. It’s nice to see that even BoW videos aren’t immune to the sods law of a 2+ with a reroll. I’ve not really played 40k since 3rd edition, so the making of a wrecked vehicle dangerous as well as difficult terrain sounds like a pretty sensible addition to the rules that adds a nice bit of risk to balance against any tactical gains you might see from using it as cover. To me it sounds good as it is possible for vehicles to get stuck, or cause injury.

good vid, as a follow up could you answer a few questions about jump infantry and terrain. As i understand it jump infantry have to take a dangerous terrain test if they are jumping in and out of terrain, but not durring their run move, is there any way you can opt not to use the jump packs for a normal 6 inch move through difficult terrain (using 2 D6) this seems to be an ambiguous area.
Sorry Darryl, but i found one thing wrong with your vid.
If a vehicle is wrecked it can’t be placed on its side cause that’d give extra cover.
Look on page 62 at the top under wrecks: “Players must clearly mark that a vehicle has been wrecked in any way they consider suitable. For example they can turn the vehicle or just its turret upside down (and not sideways to gain extra cover!), place a marker or cotton wool on it to represent smoke and flames, and so on.”
Well hivemind you know what rules lawyers are like “not sideways to gain extra cover” would mean that they COULD place it side ways to gain more free space to move through.
lol. Just try using that logic at a tournament or in GW stores. See how far it gets you…

I was just about to link this to my mate who trapped my terminators in a triangle between the board edge, a land raider and a vindicator but then I realise they were immobilised.
I was trying to protect pedro kantor from being assaulted or trapped inside so I could orbitally blast him but then I ended up trapping myself!
