hey andy, have I missed the tactics video for the khador battlebox or is it still comming?
Still on the way… I had to get my painted stuff back from the local club first.
It was being used to run demo games.
see, this is why i love BOW, here you actually get an answer to your question!
is this a new version of the old vid you did?? or is my brain going odd on me…the old one may be just an assembly quick look thingie
yea this is a tip version the one your thinking of is the unboxing we did, i still need to get it
re-linked.

We need more Cryx vids! too much Khador lol, just kidding, good stuff for all players, so I may smash my enemies for the might of the Dragonfather (alittle too much coffee today)
I love making a super sniper squad of deathdoom. Kell Bailoch, Eyris, marksman, and widow makers with Strakhov giving support where he can. So much damage output right where you want it. It’s awesome. When facing Hordes I will either swap or just add in Ashely monster hunter. It is so expensive to field but it has such an intimidation factor on your opponent I’ve seen it deny almost half the board because they were too afraid to move around them.
loving the Privateer press stuff, i think you should do hordes as well though.
There’s Hordes on the table… look out for some Trollblood vids soon. 😀
made my week that comment has
Where does it say you can only take 1 unit of these, can’t see!! Must be getting old :-s
The field allowance of these guys is 1, so for every warcaster in your army you can take one unit of widowmakers.
As allways Andy a good vid. My own experience shows the same thing, a very cheap, ver reliable little unit. But you should be careful, don’t count to much on the damage they can cause. What is more important in my oppinion is their skill in annoying the crap out of my opponent. They are incredibly hard to kill with shooting and as soon as my opponent goes after them with a melee unit I have him/her doing what I want him/ her to do and thats allways a good thing when playing, well any wargame.
best wishes from dschermanie
I find a widowmaker unit, a marksman, kell, eiryss, and 2 manhunter with yuri for melee screening very effective at ripping apart light ‘jacks and most ‘casters/’locks. and i dont know whats up but i cant get an email through to you guys. My question is on how ‘Jack Marshalls work and how autonomous jacks work.
Message received… I’ll put ‘Jack Marshal, Drives and Autonomous ‘Jacks on the list
thanks 🙂 i don’t know if it is gmail or what but i cant get any emails out at all
Also i should say the question was “can only one out of the two warjacks a marshall controls get the boost/attack pseudo-focus or can both get it?”
Prime mk2, page 80 is exactly what you are looking for
it doesnt clearly say. it says a warjack under his control. is it just one of both? it has caused alot of debate in my gaming group.
It says: Once during ‘each’ of its activations while in […] can gain one of the following benefits […]
Hmm… no edit-button…
I’ve forgotten: “a warjack controlled by a ‘jack marshal”[..] so for me it means: activate 1st ‘jack, check CMD range, if within = 1 benefit, if not = nothing. Same with 2nd ‘jack.
Maybe it’s not as clear written as in the german rulebook, but i think, they would have written: ” ‘one’ warjack controlled by a ‘jack marshal” instead of ” ‘a’ warjack[..] “
There should be more tactics in a tactic vid. In my opinion it’s more like ‘hey, look what these guys can do’ in the first half of the vid. Second half was more what i want to see in a tactic vid! Go for light warjacks, cripple boxes, destroy arc nodes… But it would also be nice to know: – How to keep them alive? (maybe with a Solo like the Manhunter to “guard” them. Your enemy will think twice, before attacking the WM and get destroyed in the next turn by the Manhunter) – what to do if there… Read more »
I LOVE my Widowmakers. Well worth their points and no Khador army should be without them.
Just getting into WarmaHordes. Bought a Menoth battlebox and then ordered a Cryx and Trollbloods starter bundle from PP. I’m insane, I know this. Anyone looking to get into WarmaHordes should check out PP 10th anniversary sale they have going on. Really, really good deals! Quick question. When rolling for a unit like the Widowmakers, do you roll for the unit or for each model? If you roll for the unit do all the models in the unit have to be in range or only one? I’m sure the answer is in the rulebook but I’ve been busy building and… Read more »
look at the how to play videos specifically part II
I’d love to but since that video was on youtube it’s been deleted.
i found that out sorry. shoulda check before posting…
Everyone in the unit activates at the same time, then they move*, and after moving them, everyone must perform an action.
You check LOS, range and roll dices for every single model. (They can target different models)
First unit I ever bought. I love these guys. They sometimes make me wish Khador had a way to boost range (like the Snipe spell, for example) but I know I’m just being greedy.
The Widowmakers love to see minimum units of non fearless troops.
4 shots later, 60% of the unit is dead and gone, and the survivors are taking a command check. 🙂
true…
I’m really thinking of getting into Warmachine now, probably with Khador – I like painting red! 🙂
Good vid, Andy.
Widowmaker models had a strong influence on my choosing this faction to start the game (and bring me back to painting and gaming after a 15 year absence. Almost immediately filled out my gunline with the Marksman and Kell. (Both of which badly need re-scaling as models imho, too tiny) The group underperformed for awhile since my opponents were thick with Heavy Jacks. Recently had great affect against a friends newly acquired Bane Knights and Mechanithralls. Advanced Deploy becomes more important now that I want to make sure I am placing them perhaps not in the best cover, but more… Read more »
