Studio Giraldez Show Off Another Infinity Masterpiece
October 14, 2013 by brennon
Studio Giraldez are back to the painting table showing off another Infinity model called Thrasymedes. See what you think of this hideously well painted figure...
Well that's just an awesome looking miniatures and I can't say much is wrong about it! The stance is one that I don't think I could ever quite understand but I think as a whole it's another amazing sculpt and Angel has done an amazing job on it.
In mythology Thrasymedes was someone who fought in the Trojan war, drawing once again on this Greek theme that the ALEPH have. I wonder if he had awesome object source lighting then too?
What do you think of him?
Lovely paint-job as usual ! It shows how one can do a slightly darker colour scheme with Aleph, and change the colour harmony with something else than the traditional purple. Thrasymedes was one of the minor leaders in the Trojan war. He didn’t kill a lot of people, he was second fiddle to his brother Antilochus, himself a second fiddle to the main cast (Achilles, Ulysses, Agamemnon, Ajax and so on)… It’s not that he’s not heroïc (he is quite brave), but he just isn’t the hero of these stories. As it turns out, Thrasymedes is better off than all… Read more »
awesome paint job. I’ll have to practise a lot to paint light effects like this.
I agree with Romain, its a great use of colour, subtly different and yet still part of Aleph.
The source lighting is done really well too, but for me I think I would prefer the model without it.
To good for words…
I paint exactly like Giraldez, only substantially more rubbisher. Stunning stuff as usual!
Ha ! Well, what a coincidence… so do I ! 🙂
I can actually paint exactly the same as Giraldez… I just don’t want to. 🙂
Pic or it didn’t happen.
Another jaw dropping masterwork from Angel.
Actually, the name of this miniature comes from a character created by the amazing artist AlexanderNevsky, who regularly posts comic strips in the Infinity Spanish forums. Corvus Belli wanted to play homage to the recurring appearances of Trasimedes, a Myrmidon who can’t stand Achilles’ attitude towards women and is always trying to kill him with a missile launcher.
Check it out. The strips are small masterpieces.

They can also be found translated to English in the international forums.
Here’s the latest one: Achilles wants to meet Aleph’s new hire…

Genius ! Genius, I say !
“In English please, you know I don’t speak Spanish!” – Ron Burgundy. 😉
From the little spanish I understand (and there may be mistranslations there) : Achilles : “Very funny, Thracymedes ! You alert me that you have located Atalanta’s little bunny, and when i come to give her my Homeric Salami, she’s nowhere to be seen. Can you tell me what the f…” (explosion) Thracymedes : “It’s my spotbot, dumba** !” Myrmidon : “I told him… target a vital organ. A VITAL organ !” Achilles : “Eeeh ! It’s like pure fire !!!! I like it, it’s hard and burning hot at first, but daddy Achilles will soon soften you up with… Read more »
Romain, your translation is SO good I’m not bothering to try to improve it. Let me just add the title is Blind Date, and the series is called Aleph Is Your Friend.
Thanks !
I think “little bunny” is a metaphor for… you know… something else, in spanish. I can’t quite convey that, unfortunately.
I’m also a bit shaky with some meanings the last panel. Oh well.
Yes, bunny has THAT double meaning in Spanish. Nevsky’s strips are full of sexual references. Your translation of the last panel is spot-on. I guess the meaning you are not sure about is surtidor de Ambrosia. It means the male equivalent of bunny in this case. 🙂
Wasn’t sure about “nenita” and “capullo”, somehow… contextually, it’s ok, thogh !
