Especially for you Trekkies – Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics!
October 28, 2011 by lloyd
HeroClix are expanding their range of offerings aimed at the Trekkies with the upcoimg release of Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics.
At the moment there isn’t a huge amount of detail and the previews are 3D’s but you get the flavour of what they have coming.
Here’s what they had to say from their site:
Star Trek HeroClix: Tactics puts you in command of Federation and Klingon vessels and is 100% compatible with the HeroClix core rules system. Tactics is intended as a standalone game system and will exist outside of the Modern and Golden Age tournament environments. What this mean is Tactics operates by the same rules and Powers and Abilities card that your standard HeroClix game is played with, but is meant to be played as its own game.
Tactics features more than 20 pre-painted ships from both the Federation and Klingon affiliations and will be available for sale in both a 4-Ship starter product and single figure boosters.
So what do you guys think, is this exciting you or are you may be thinking of getting A Call to Arms: Star Trek from Mongoose Publishing? Either way we want to know so drop us some comments.
Oh and here's some other Star Trek Posts:
Ah, good old Negh’Var class… Looks sleek, even compared to the brand new Sovereign class Enterprise !
Of course, these will probably be dreadfully painted, but what the heck…
BoW Romain
I’m some what shocked at the quality, as in that it’s not half bad for HC. As for the paint job, this might be the easiest painting for them to do. Base coat, drybrush, wash if needed and details.
Heck yeah! I like the idea of stats being available on the base. I wish someone would come out with something similar as an option for wh40k like maybe a base with a wounds counter? Regardless, I’m loving this!
i want these, and if the paint jobs crap that’s just an excuse to paint them in my own colours 🙂
WK has made these so that you can play these againt normal HC figures althought I can’t image myself doing so becouse of totaly different scale. Still I might get starter just for maps.
Why Heroclix… why…. I had learned so long ago to hate you, and now you make these and I want to buy them ALLLLLLLLL!
I don’t get how these things are compatible with the best game ever made.
Why would they use a Klingon ship from the Enterprise era(the Raptor class, in the middle), mixed in with all of the Next Generation era ships??
The “Raptor” (Bird of Prey, actually) was refitted in the early “Next Generation” era as the B’Rel class… Don’t remember the stardates, sorry.
It just seems like an odd choice to me. Would much rather see the K’t’inga class.
B’Rel class or K’vort class is the current Bird of Prey class, but it has been around since the movies. There is a refitted raptor introduced in the current Star Trek MMO video game, but it seems wierd that Clix would be drawing from video games for Ships.

I confess my ignorance of the latest Raptor class… It looks neat ! However, the one you’re thinking of on the picture is clearly a Negh’Var…
Negh’Var is an amazing ship. One of my favorite scenes is in “All Good Things”, when the Enterprise de-cloaks and fires a phaser through one of the Negh’Vars.
In the “promotional picture with all of the ships”. The Negh Var is green and on the bottom, the raptor is grey, in the middle, and next to the Oberth class starship.
I hope this comes across the right way in these comments, I LOVE talking about star trek stuff.
Yes, so I gathered… Thanks !
There’s also a Negh’Var attacking DS9 in The Way of the Warrior… Nice battle, that one !
I thought there was an actual older BoP that was upgraded and the Raptor was a separate scout vessel…

Been a long time since I watched Enterprise though…
yeah but the 1701-A is there, the top right ship. this means it can’t just be TNG era.
True. But 1701-A is an Excelsior class type starship. Those things were all over TNG. They could hold up in a fight.
Where as a Klingon Raptor from (Ent) wouldn’t be able to dent a DS9 Runabout.
Sorry meant to say like an Excelsior class ship. I know it was a refitted Constitution class.
I don’t think it’s the 1701-A… It’s clearly not Constitution class. It looks more like the 1701-C or Excelsior (Excelsior II class), which was wtill in use early TNG… But I could be wrong, as the picture isn’t exactly detailed.
It also may be that they just jumble up the ships from different eras willy-nilly…
Found a MUCH larger image of it, it is 1701-A.

Well, I’ll be damned… They’ve just put the models in without chronological consideration.
Thank you Bloodhunter, you’re true to your name !
Also on the larger picture you can see the Excelsior on the cover of the single figure boxes so Excelsior class will be in the game.
I think a lot of these ships are available unpainted in the £74 Star Trek Fleet Captains board game. They are not to scale all being about the same size and sadly many people claim they get damaged easily.
Of course these might end up being totally different to ST:FC
If you like metal ships check out Star Fleet Commander site for TOS era ships
Wizkids also have the film based ships in the board game ST:E 1 klingon and new look Enterprise
the tv show ships are in ST:FC
wonder if the galaxy class will have a special rule to separate the saucer section?
Maybe it does. Captain America set introduced detachable parts as mechanic so they could use that with Galaxy class.
