Take to the Skies in Forge World’s New Flyer

Forge World have released a new Imperial Flyer to help your forces gain superiority over the skies.
Following the Saint-Saen Crusade’s liberation of twelve worlds in the Segmentum Obscurus, STC patterns were recovered for an air superiority fighter, smaller and more agile than the iconic Thunderbolt. The Lightning has since been disseminated to other worlds with strong ties to the Imperial Navy – notably Bakka and Hydraphur – and production has recently begun within the Segmentum Solar, resulting in the Voss Pattern Lightning Strike Fighter.
With air support becoming an increasingly vital aspect of Warhammer 40K tactics, this latest miniature could be an all important addition to your games.

from the first picture i don’t like it but the second one i do, i think i’d have to see it in person before i decided properly if i like it or not.
How well does it do in close combat? 😉
Phew, thank Christmas for that. A new Imperial flyer, at last.
I am so glad they released this because people all over the interwebs are starting to panic because Imperial forces are loosing the battle for air superiority and Imperial generals are crying out due to a lack of options when it comes to air support.
Now we can give those pesky Xenos with their plethora of fancy flying forces what for.

Why would you want a Lightning when a Valkrie is by far the best bang for the buck flyer in the game? I guess if you’re a SM player who doesn’t want to use allies. It’s still too expensive for what you get. I’d take a Stormtalon instead.
Yup, agree with kjq13 – too expensive for the points, poorly armed, less armour, wrong weapons.
Oh, and it’s £75!
