The guys are asked a question about Sisters of Battle, but do they make better allies in the new 40K edition than they do a main force?

Does anyone know what Issue# of White Dwarf has the new Sisters of Battle list? Or if it wasn’t in White Dwarf were I can find it. I have the old Witch Hunters book but I would like to look at the Updated version. Thanks.
If you find out where it is could you tell me :D?
White Dwarf 379 and 380.
Sisters cannot have Lascannons or Missile Launcers.
I now use Sisters as my primary army in 6th edition and am near undefeated!
Those rending Heavy Bolters (only 80pts for the min squad) are brutal as are Exorcists (48″ Str8 AP1 Heavy d6).
Also 15-20 strong squads of power armor troops are nothing to shake a stick at!
I do sometimes ally with Dark Angel Deathwing (Belial + 2 Deathwing squads).
Something you guys didn’t talk about is the amount of AWSOME forge world stuff they can take! EVERY Imperial Guard Forgeworld Flyer / AA Sutff is also availble for Sisters. Yes, I know not all tournies allow this, but if they do, you can bring 3 almighty Avengers! That’s 3 AV12, BS 4 Flyers = 6 Lascannons, 18 (!) S7 AP3 shots for 450 Points! Then, no love for Rending Heavy Bolters? Or Death Cult Assasins? Also, no Penitent Engines? 85 Points for a S10 Walker with D6+1 Attacks, Rage, Ignores Crew Shaken/Stunned, AV11 & 2x Heavy Flamers ? Well,… Read more »
They did recognize the rending joy of HB 😉 And yes, I agree with you: the Avenger will be quite commonly seen in SoB forces from here on out: if you have a Sisters army, you’ll be picking one of these up! Avengers, Exorcists, Penitent Engines, Retributors… looking pretty nice! 😀
They did? Doh! Shame on me
@imichal: took the words right outta my mouth. No Lascannons. No plasma (except VSS and such). No missile launchers. Darrell, the SoB are great; no, really, they’re awesome! They just require a bit of finesse. Exorcists and Celestine you got right, same with rending HB. But you dismissed their biggest asset: their Acts of Faith! Yes, the bog standard BSS isn’t amazing for the points, and the occassional melta can be quite useful, but the ability for each squad to reroll 1s can be a turn changer! Penitent Engines are amazing fire magnets, and you have to take care of… Read more »
Hey Ironmonger,
Could you post your 1500 list here? I would like to see it too!
Thanks!
Also, he forgot that all weapons are Rending with the Retributor Squad, not just the Heavy Bolters. Penitent Engines lost some stuff when they changed to 6th ed., but they are still pretty good. I team them up with Death Cult Assassins, and take out units.
Melta, Melta, Melta … don’t worry Sam, it may have skipped over Darrells head but i got it 🙂
The thing I like about sisters of battle as allies, is they are sisters of battle. Iv had people laugh at me for fielding them. And guess who was sitting forgot on the winning objective. If you have a squad of space sterngaurd vets ripping up your back line, or a sister squad turging alone in a rhino, which are you more likely to focus down. They seem to get ignored all game, and then they are forgotten on an objective, or its to late for you, and you get a face full of melta.
