A ShadowSea Fortune Hunter Dives into The Beautiful Depths
April 18, 2012 by brennon
Check out another painted miniature from ShadowSea in the form of the Fortune Hunter Deep Soldier. This is quite a fantastic looking piece...
This Fortune Hunter is quite the stunning piece. I love the attention to detail on the base and the way they have gone to great lengths to make it look like he is underwater with the glow across the armour. A fantastic looking miniature which could be facing off against some of these beasties. Check out some more amazing Art Work from the game below...
Some truly fantastic pieces of art work that really serve to evoke the feeling of peril beneath the waves. Plenty of original ideas and exciting prospects to look forwards to in this game.
How are you liking the look of this game?
Brilliant sculpt – very steampunkish details with the backpack turbines, diver’s helmeted armour and harpoon gun but not too many rivets and not too clunky (in fact quite sleek) a style of armour plating. This is how I imagine Covenant of Antartica soldiers would look like in Dystopian Wars (though they’d have rayguns instead of course).
The artwork is vibrant and evocative as ever – I especially like the Dagathonan Brute as he’s clearly inspired by one of the boldest looking sea creatures, the lionfish:

Really lovely stuff here.
Exelent sculpt and art work is great looking.
Love the diver model and the artwork is good. Especially look forward to seeing what the Elementalist will be like.
I’m really liking this stuff. It’s so different and done well. I’m keeping my on this game and it’s minis.
I can not stress enough how much I like the uniqueness of the setting; it’s entirely unlike anything currently on the market. Plus, the quality of art direction is fantastic.
I feel like I want to have this game in the bathtub! With lots of bubbles 😛
I am just concerned about how you are going to make the bubbles! 😛
You had to ask didn’t you!
Truly imaginative and unique artwork going on here. Love the stylized looks. One of those miniature lines to pay attention to.
The one thing with this game is that I have a real dislike of fish and sea life lol, it freaks me the hell out. So when I see all this beautiful artwork its scaring me in equal measure. I would at least like to be in a suit like that diver so I could zap all these weirdo fishmen.

And terrain possibilities for this are amazing; plastic aquarium plants, shells, vivid colours, …
impressive sculpt, but ironically it’s the little things about it I find the most interesting such as the modelled base, little details like that just go a long way of realising the kind of world the sculptors are trying to create I think.
I like some of the sketches too. Obviously my favourites are the last two pieces – most especially the manta ray with the teeth. It has a healthy dose of squigglyness. (People reading my comment should know how important squigglyness is to me!).
Bioshock anyone?…
Stunning miniatures and incredible art, i can’t wait to get a two player starter from them 😀
Check out their website too if you haven’t already. It’s really good. More great art.
I WANT MY MARINES TO LOOK LIKE THAT! (D’oh, inserted a pun!)
