Scibor Suit Torin Up In a Celtic Mech Suit
May 17, 2012 by brennon
The last Mech we saw from Scibor was the Templar. It divided opinion and even went through a change due to community reaction. So how about we check out their latest Mech? This time its of Celtic design for a chap named Torin...
I don't know why but once again the model feels a little too clean and polished. It doesn't really seem like it would be powerful and functional in battle, despite its massive Gatling gun. There's also an unintended edge of comedy to the model with its pilot poking a wary head from that hatch. With the helmet on it also reminds of the Iron Giant cartoon.
What do you make of this new Mech, and what would you change given the opportunity?

i think it’s far better than the templar. I’d happily buy one of these. either take the top hatch off completely or use the helmet. great model though. I am definitely a fan of this one.
This one definitely looks better to me – the shoulder pads have been bulked out to cover more of the vulnerable arm joints, the detail is still tacked on but the round shapes seem to suit the frame more (the shield design to give the engine on its back a finishing touch is cool) and the hatch gives that feel of a proper armoured ‘walking tank’ compared to the ‘steampunk contraption’ feel the exposed head gave the last one as now the pilot can duck down inside and use sensors to see the enemy. Darrell would approve… 😉
I like this one a lot more.
I’d personally like to see more stuff connecting the shoulders to the torso.
But still a very nice mech.
This is defenetly improvment compared to Templar. Fact that guy inside can hide his head is already plus.
This is an extreme improvement from the other mec they made. This I can see getting just to paint up. Lots of nice little details that will make it worth the effort to paint.
At the end of the day – a shiny turd is still a piece of sh*t.
