Darrell sets his sights on some more space puppies and their Saga’s specificity the Saga of The Hunter and if you can take a Rune Priest in a Land Rader with Wolf Guard and do the nasty on your opponent.

Space Wolf Q+A says that Saga of the Hunter + Wolf Scouts can “Behind enemy lines” outflank.
Rune Priest’s can’t take Saga of the Hunter. They also can’t have wolf claws. Also, only models in power armour that do not have a jump pack or bike can take Saga of the Hunter.
So is there a point in giving scouts a wolf guard leader if the scouts are going to lose scout and behind enemy lines?
You can give them a Wolf Guard Pack Leader (not to be confused with a Battle Leader) and he becomes part of their squad and gains their rules. It is in the FAQ. I like to put a Pack Leader with the squad, give him a power fist and combi-melta.
I submitted the original question, and i said wolf priest NOT rune priest.
A nasty tactic would be a land raider redeemer (i think) with flamer and a scot unit inside with melta, outflank, disembark scouts near a tank or transport, pop open the tank with the scouts melta, then flame the enemy units that come out from the tank. Or if theres a lot of infantry models not in transports (IG or necrons), just outflank in with the landraider and flame them.
To outflank with Scout it needs to be a dedicated transport, which Wolf Scouts don’t have access to. The Scouts rule in the rulebook is quite specific on this sadly.
Wolf Priests can’t use Behind Enemy Lines as they are an IC, they could outflank if they had Saga of the Hunter, but I don’t see how they could get a Land Raider as scouts can’t have a dedicated transport.
It is very common for people to think that special rules confer them to vehicles?
At a local tourney had to correct a player that used a battlewagon with deffrolla and outflanked because he thought if there were kamanoes inside then vehicle got outflank. Not so . Got to read those special rule descriptions not all confer to joined units and even fewer confer to vehicles.
Yes it is, the worst ones are people who claim deepstriking land raiders with assault marines get Descent of Angels O.o
Brutal! People actually think that?!?!
They did in my store, I was one step away from picking up the Land raider in question and using it to beat some sense into the guy lol
lol That would have been entirely justified.
