The Russians are Coming to DUST Warfare
February 14, 2012 by dracs
Fantasy Flight Games are introducing a new faction to DUST Warfare and Dust Tactics with their upcoming campaign book Zverograd. The Sino-Soviet Union are joining the war!
With enemies on all sides, the SSU engages in many military operations. While their alliances are few, their numbers are many. The development of Sino-Soviet war machines has already left a smoldering mark on the face of the war, and their progressive designs remain on the cutting edge of modern combat technology.
What are your thoughts on these? Think you might start a Russian force?

I could use these as Dozers in Infinity.
Maybe one or two as line Kazaks.
The mec looks more humanoid than the other armies mec’s look. I hope this will be the style over all with the Russians.
for what I’ve seen, those are just some small terminator/battlesuit type. Walkers could still be the same
I hope to be able to use my Red Blok infantry and figures (AT43).
The painted examples of the new figures are rather tempting…
cool, mechs for my secrets of the third reich Russians! any idea why this game is doing so well, while secrets of the third reich is left waiting in the wings, considering they are both pretty much in the same settings, and as far as I am aware secrets has been out longer?
I think it’s because Dust started out as a minis/boardgame hybrid. Relaitvely simple rules and plastic minis (with optional pre-painted versions) bridged the gap between hobbyists and board gamers, while the Fantasy Flight’s high production value and promotional apparatus did the rest. West Wind can’t really compare to FF in terms of financial resources, so SotR is much more of a hobby game.
But if your question was rhetorical, then yeah, I agree. What’s more, the universe of SotR seems much deeper and more “narrative” to me.
Dust has also been a series of Graphic Novels, 1:48, and 1:35 kits. Which have been around since about 2007, that would probably help draw other people in.
Errm, the core rules aren’t out yet. Surely premature for a campaign book?
So Dust Tactics goes to Eastern Front.
