Robby the Robot from Ammon Miniatures

There's nothing like a heavily armed battlebot to add to your sci-fi forces... unless said robot is also incredibly cute!
Check out the new robot model from Ammon Miniatures... Robby!
Cool ‘bot design. If the gun were a little bigger, it would be great for 40k.
Cool, remids me a little of the Grindhouse’s Dogface robots http://www.battlegrip.com/?p=22917. If you BOW guys manage to find out what happened to those sculpts, that would be really great.
They were very cool indeed!
Turns out the deal for transition of reproduction rights fell through at the last moment. Grindhouse remains in possession of the Junk concept, but it’s unclear weather future projects will include the Dogface concept as it is; there was a lot of accusations flying around at the time, that it was just a ripoff of the World War Robot concepts.
Personally, I hope we’ll see them in production and that people who don’t know better won’t harass the authors for what is essentially a tin-can robot, a sci-fi archetype if I ever saw one.
I think robot artiste extraordinaire Brian Despain would have more luck hitting them with his lawyers over the designs. Regardless of the inspiration, the world needs more of these miniature mechanical marvels!
I don’t know, something about using the name “Robby the Robot” with that sculpt seems wrong. I mean the orig Robby was a classic. Its like doing a scuplt of King Kong, and having it be an Orangutan.

Good luck to the poor lads that glue that together. I know for me I’ll at least turn over the table after the arm falls off for the 4th time.
Looks like junk in a good way.
Thats kinda over large gun for that robot. I bet his compensating something with that.
