Retribution of Scyrah, Heavy Rifle Team
April 4, 2011 by beerogre
Take a look at this... it seems the angry Elves of the Retribution of Scyrah will be getting their (much anticipated) artillery unit in the upcoming Wrath rulebook.
According to the desctiption on the Privateer Press website:
The cannons used by the heavy rifle teams of the houseguard are deadly effective pieces of Iosan ordnance. The heavy rifle crews are adept at picking apart enemies from well across the battlefield, and the heavy bolts fired by their cannons can penetrate thick armor with appalling ease.
What we can take from that is the Rifle Team will have an Armour Piercing ranged weapon and will no doubt be much more accurate than we are used too... they may be even more accurate than my Horgenhold Artillery Corp... that makes my Dwarves sad.
What do you think guys? Are you a Retribution player?
If you are we have quite a treat for you coming up later in the summer.

fugly and what a weird pose for the shooter.
Meh the shooter isn’t in *that* strange a pose for a sniper but the sad thing is that these really do not look like they are from industrial-era steampunk at all, they look like they belong more in something like Infinity which just makes them stand out like a sore thumb.
The only gripe I really have with the models themselves regardless of setting is that in scale the eye-cups of both the spotter and the scope are about the size of wine bottle bottoms, would it have really been so hard to make them eye-cup sized?
I thing its quite a good addition to Scyrah, and fits with their theme.
While all the less advanced races are using cannons and small magical tools, the retribution puts its advanced magical tech to work making a lethal gun thats both smaller and far more effective than their rivals.
That pointy codpiece still bugs me though…
I think the pose is fairly realistic as it gives a pretty stable firing base. The scopes actually seem realistic when compared to real life anti-material rifles. they fit with the theme of RoS so i see no problem there and i agree the codpieces are a bit to pointy…
