Rebel Minis Space Scorpion Has One Hell of a Sting
February 28, 2012 by brennon
If your looking for an awesome looking monster to add to your Sci-Fi 15mm games then Rebel Minis have got the answer with their new Space Scorpion...
The deadly Scorpion comes ready to butcher and kill your poor troopers as you can see above. The legs are also bendable so you can twist them into different shapes to give it a bit of movement.
Will you be grabbing this Scorpion for the sting in its tail?
I reckon it might also work in a 28-32mm setting.
Wouldn’t have the same horror of overwhelming size, but you still wouldn’t want to meet one on a dark night, or even in broad daylight come to that lol
I agree – might make an interesting buglike DE Clawed Fiend or with that tail perhaps a Slaanesh army might make good use of it…
It actually is from a 28mm game. Mongoose Publishing’s 2005 or 2007 Starship Troopers miniature wargame. I lol’d so hard when I saw this, did some research too to make sure I wasn’t kidding myself, but these guys are recasters. Nothing towards them though, if they had some Starship Troopers MI guys and some more arachnid units, I’d be buying from them so I can get a bigger army list for both my Arachnid and MI armies.
That looks very nice.
That is a firefry – a mini from the Starship Troopers Miniature game by Mongoose Publishing.
I own about 40 of them. They are a great little model.
This is a firefry model!!! Gosh I wanted to own one of these when the Starship Troopers Miniature game was still out there. I did about an hour of cross-referencing, it’s the friggen firefry! And I just looked on their site. There’s OTHER Starship Troopers miniatures on the there! The Terror-Mites are actually Cliff-Mites, and the Death Striders are just Control Bugs! Recasters!
This is an old news post now, but seriously, you guys are morons. “RECASTERS RECASTERS RECAAAAASTERS!” without a few seconds to check and find that Rebel Miniatures legally purchased the moulds and the rights to them from Mongoose. See, they were part of the old Starship Troopers line, but they were original and not directly licensed from the people who owned the rights to Starship Troopers, so they were solely Mongoose’s property. Which they then sold. Legally. To a small miniatures company who probably don’t appreciate being called recasters. Jesus, what is wrong with you idiots? Google’s right there in… Read more »
