Puppets War Wake Up More Spidery Not-Necrons
August 1, 2012 by brennon
Check out this image that found its way onto Facebook the other day from Puppets War. These 'Necrons' look fairly awesome, especially considering my current love is for their metallic hides.
While I don't know the Necron codex too well, I imagine someone within this wonderful community can tell me what they will be useful as on the battlefield. They are looking snazzy that's for sure.
What are these metallic critters?

I’m confused. What are they proxies for? They appear to be original, yet also appear to be Necron yet don’t seem to belong anywhere. Unless I’ve had a memory lapse. They seem to be original works.
That’s what I want to know lol. What in the Codex could these be used for? My first thought (given that they have massive weapons) is that they were considered ‘proxy’ for something like Immortals, but obviously with a more multi-limbed look.
BoW Ben
@brennon I wouldn’t try to force these models into the Necron Codex. The Necrons have suffered enough as is. Let these models be something else entirely, they’re cool enough to have their own legacy. No doubt they were supposed to be Szeras modified Immortal though.
My first thought was destroyer but I don’t think they are on a big enough base?
But Destroyers are Jumpinfantry now? Yeah Ben, I thought Immortals too, but now I just don’t know… I just don’t know *wonders off confused and disturbed*
There is a Lord you can take that allows you to upgrade 1 squad of necron immortals to the have Counter attack and Furious charge. I think these models could be good for this. They look abit like immortals, especially there double barrelled Gause cannons. And the single cannons look about like tesla weapons. So I think that would be nice for someone if they want to go down that road 🙂
They look like alternatve Immortals to me as well, tesla carbines and double barrel gauss weapons give it away. Pretty nice minis, would like to see some legless Immortal alternatives (more like the old-school wraiths) myself.
They kind of vibe like Trade Federation Destroyer Necrons….
I’m finding I like more and more of the 3rd party stuff out there. At least certainly more than my wallet would ever sustain. That just makes the hobby better for everyone, in my opinion. Hope these guys keep it up.
I wish I could really add to this discussion about what they may be but I know little about the Necron codex. So I’ll say they’re proxies for cool.
