Puppets War Turn Your Marine into a Real Bully
June 13, 2012 by dracs
Puppets War have further expanded their selection of Egyptian sci-fi accessories, now with the shoulder pads bearing the likeness of the sacred bull Apis.
Bull iconography is traditionally a symbol of strength and would therefore be a great way to make your miniatures even more imposing. Apis also symbolised the courage of the Pharaohs, so who knows maybe this will help with leadership tests.
Ok I'm calling out for ideas. Come up with the name of a chapter that would use this iconography, no pre-existing ones allowed.
This makes the full lineup of the Egyptian style armor. I can so see a thousand sons army formed with them. It look so clean and smart if painted well.
@dracs – Obviously these pads are perfect for Minotaurs, but you did say no existing names…hmm…

…got it! How about something like the Space Sharks name change to make the chapter sound more imposing? As they became the Carcharodons Astra, so this bull chapter would be the Stercus Tauri – that’s the closest I can get with my extremely limited Latin… 😉
These pads could also be trimmed along the edges like the last shown set to make totemic masks, perhaps for Chaos Dwarfs given the bull connection.
I would punt for something to do with the Atlantean civilisation. Something like the Atlantean Guard or something with a tenuous link which is thus…
The legend of Atlantis is supposedly based on the true life devastation on the island of Crete and how it effected the Minoan civilsation. The Minoans had a lot of bulls in their art work and was also meant to be the land where the Labyrinth was which Theseus had to enter.
So something like the Atlantean Guard or Praetorians of the Labyrinth?

…there’s also the option of calling a Chaos Chapter the ‘Mad Bullocks’ who comes from the planet Beta Sigma Epsilon 😉

Brazen Bulls, a pseudo-Sumerian chapter known for sacrificing captured generals in a great brass bull statue built over an everburning pit of promethum, for the glory of the Emperor.
Prometheum. Gah.
